Been working on this set for a little while for someone. Started out with a crappy set and made them pretty much NEW again.
Both the retractor housings were broken, and the chrome hardware was pretty rusty, as were the retractor mounts. The housings were swapped with better housings. Better hardware, NEW BUCKLES and NEW Lap Buckle were used. Rust removed from the mounts, and all the plastics cleaned/prepped and freshened with color.
Then the whole set was sent for NEW Black Webbing. One retractor had to be sent back to be redone, they installed the belt wrong. That delayed getting them done, but they fixed the mistake and I got it back today.
WOW! This set is like night and day! Something that looked like it was ready for the dumpster now looks damn near new again!

Before and After. 1987 Saddle Tan to Slate Gray

These were restored for someone. This is the 1981-1987 Blue. They were throughly cleaned, rust removed and freshened with the correct blue. Then they were sent off for NEW WEBBING.

1980 Blue, one year only. These were cleaned, rust removed from the mounts, and freshened up with the correct 80 Blue. Plastic buckles were replaced with NOS GM metal buckles. New upper anchor covers dyed to match.
Then the belts were temporarily reassembled and sent for New Webbing.

is there a way to repair seatbelts to retract at a oem speed. Mine hardly retract like the return spring is broken or wore out. i have 1978 c10

Yep, I get them retracting well again. That’s part of the restoration process. If the spring was broken, t wouldn’t retract at all. Actually the belt wouldn’t do anything.

I have spare parts. But they have to be an exact match to the one that may need replaced. It could just be it needs tightened also. But not actually seeing what it is doing, it is hard to say what it needs exactly. But all this is part of the restoration I do on them. It isn’t all about making them pretty again, it’s getting them functioning also.
But each one of those caps that have springs, they are a specific size and tension. And the tabs that set the cap to the side of the retractor, they are spaced according.

Cleaned/restored a set of Burgundy belts for someone.
Throughly cleaned, rust removal and freshened with color. I was able to get the white spot out also.
Replaced the Upper Anchor covers with better ones. Check out the Before & After pics.

New Webbing, New Buckles

Changing a set of Mahogany to Black. So those get completely disassembled for rust removal, through cleaning. Then the plastics parts are prepped and dyed black.
These will be temporarily reassembled and then sent for new webbing in black.

I talked to you recently about my bench seat issue. I decided to go with the new LMC bucket seats instead of restoring the OEM bench. I love the seats! However, now I can't stand my OEM Saddle Seat Belts. I'm looking for a set of OEM black or charcoal ones. Can you help? I'd rather not dye the webbing. I'm open to rewebbing them. Let me know what my options are. I'm not worried about the $$, I just want a quality solution. Thanks.
