Re: SPID Picture thread?
Thanks. I was just wondering about the 3624DC turquoise custom cl and what tinted glass ment in 1969. If this SPID is original, then it was, in my opinion a well equipped truck.

A11 Tinted glass was just that, a light tinted cab glass without a shader band on the windshield. It was offered as a stand alone option and, as in this case, included with C60 Air Conditioning.

Here's one from a very rusty, crusty 71 Custom Camper 20 I picked up yesterday.

Re: SPID Picture thread?
That would be optional H78-15 tires with an B load rating. Blackwall bias belted construction with a highway tread.
About a P225/75R15.

Re: SPID Picture thread?
I recently purchased this 1970 LWB C10 that has the camper mirrors on it. A was thinking about keeping the mirrors on but after I looked at the SPID it doesn't show that option. Can someone tell me if this could be factory installed or if it's not on the SPID then it was added later. There are no holes from other mirrors.

The camper mirrors you do have are from a later 73 up sqquare body and are actually mounted too high on the door as well. If you do decide to install some factory DF2 I have posted the correct measurements previously. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...6&postcount=10

Is option 534 white and medium olive just for a white top and solid medium olive bottom or is it the two tone bottom as well?

Re: SPID Picture thread?
generally speaking, 500 series RPOs are conventional two tone (different top only) and 400 series are deluxe two tone (i.e. white top and middle for 71/72 and top and bottom below lower belt for 69/70). I think 69/70 used a different term than "deluxe two tone" for the 400 coded RPOs, forget what it is off the top of my head. 534 is white top/med olive rest of body.
EDIT: Looks like your tailgate was originally med olive - and can see it peeking out of the upper left corner of the SPID where the clear is peeling as well as see the overspray/tape line on the SPID itself where the dk olive was sprayed - lots of work! Just sounds like a thorough repaint - but it's odd they'd go to the trouble of the inside of the cab but not the inside of the tailgate... Is the inside of the bed painted dk olive? Maybe used to have a bed liner? Last edited by jocko; 04-10-2016 at 03:07 PM. |

Re: SPID Picture thread?
So the truck had a camper on it for most of its life. The metal bed is super scratched up but in great shape and no sign of respray in the bed. They had two plastic huelga bird decals (guy claims it was for migrant farm workers and not for the norteno gang which is odd since he told me he is selling the truck to pay for defense lawyer fees and court fees and was possibly going to prison for his crimes) any ways the birds were just double side tapes to the dash and door panel and that was taped off when sprayed. I removed them and now there are medium olive huelga birds in its place.

Ha, that's pretty funny. What are you going to do? Stay dark olive or go med olive? Both are nice!

Re: SPID Picture thread?
Here's the SPID on my base model 69 K-20.
I just added the white wheels and taller tires. Next will be a white front bumper, and painting the mirrors white. It has 36K original miles. It was owned by a local municipality and was a fire truck and maintenance truck at a couple local small airports. I've learned from reading through the forum that the spiral shocks are the originals, and the side marker lights are not burned out, they are reflectors! |

Re: SPID Picture thread?
There must be a lot of cut down long bed trucks out there, because most all of the SPIDS are 127" in lengths. Either the short bed people do not want to share with the others. Just my opinion. Here is mine.
