Re: SoCal checkin' in
Never made it down to the show, but saw some sharp looking rides heading up Main as I was doing yard work on Saturday afternoon.

Re: SoCal checkin' in
I keep meaning to ask... I saw a '67-72 (didn't see the front) heading up Main saturday afternoon. It was either dark grey or faded black primer with what I can only describe as a Super Bee stripe in red around the rear bed sides. Is that a members truck? I though it was super cool.
Also saw a really sweet blue square body heading up Main after the show.

Re: SoCal checkin' in
Just saw a really sharp looking 69 or 70 at my ortho doc's office. White short box with a little lift. Anyone from the site?

Re: SoCal checkin' in
Hard to say. Sometimes when I see our trucks, if I happen to be able to talk to the owner, I ask them about their truck and invite them to the site. You would be surprise how many people dont know about this place or know where to look for stuff.

Re: SoCal checkin' in
I did see that gray GMC truck .. He pulled into the parking lot just as the show with finishing up and I ran into it again on Main St. on my obligatory Drive-by
while headed home to the LBC. Sometimes I think people get the impression that I either own this website or have stock in it the way I go on and on about it |

Bob im glad I could help. Those wheels would have sat here 3 more years. Now I just have to get rid of the other stuff. Make sure you post the pics of your truck. The 283 still has your name on it when you need it. LOL |

Re: SoCal checkin' in
Also...in the spirit of Christmas, and I'm always willing to help my fellow board members, I'm going to put together a list of a few parts which I have that I'm not using, that I was going to sell, but if you need it, I will give it to you free as a christmas gift from me and the shop. Only condition is that you actually use it. Please don't accept parts from me, then put them for sale on craigslist. (has happened before)

Re: SoCal checkin' in
hey all, just joined this forum a few days go, and so far Ive gotten lots of great info! Heres a few pics of my 63 c20......
I cant wait to start tearing into this one, but have another project on the pipeline... Id love to drive it though. right now it has a ****ty universal floor shifter and its soo sloppy i have no idea what gear im in.. drove it from torrance in what I believe is second gear. Anyone know what I can to to fix the linkages? or any better shift kits? Im a novice with engines and trannies, since im more of a bodywork guy... Anyone near or around the San Fernando Valley? |

First let me welcome you to the SoCal Checkin page. There are people from all over on this post. And yes there are some out in the SFV. Nice truck it looks very straight. Now with you being a bodywork guy im sure theres a engine and trans guy here that will barter with you. LOL You might just need a linkage kit to tighten up your gear shifter. |

Re: SoCal checkin' in
Been lurking on this page for a while but haven't posted much. It seems that most of the So Cal members are from LA area. I missed the last meet up around thanksgiving, it was just too far for 10 mpg, but was contemplating it. Who all is around the San Diego area? Would love to have a meet up down here sometime. Do you guys ever go to the El Cajon or La Mesa street fairs?

Welcome Mike, all are welcome. We actually do have some San Diego members as well as Oceanside, El Cajon etc etc. Also under the California section there is a San Diego members section, but we talk to anyone who stops by. |
