Yes, all the trucks I've seen have the same....other than a carrier bearing mount on longbeds...

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project

they are aftermarket designed for hot rods. They are lowback buckets approx 24" tall plus the brackets...I will modify them so they fit right underneath the window

I won't have any updates this weekend because I'm traveling to Florida. My wife's grandfather has cancer and has just decided not to take any more Chemo because the cancer is still spreading. So we want to visit with him before his health goes further downhill. Going to leave in a few hours, drive all night/day and see him tomorrow. Have other family near Tampa and then will head back Sunday so I can be back at work Monday.

Nice! I like them. Sounds like a plan.

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project

Well, made the drive down to The Villages Hospital in Florida and my wife was able to visit for a couple of hours. Then we drove down to Downtown Disney in Orlando and took the girls to rainforest cafe. At 2 and 5 they really enjoyed it. $60 less to spend on the truck for an applebees quality meal but the environment and smiles on their faces were worth it. Going to visit an Aunt tomorrow and staying in Tampa tonight. Then will be driving back home. About 23 hours driving in 48 hours time

Sorry about your wife's grandfather, but hopefully he knows where he will be going. And the $60 for smiles on the kids' face.... priceless! Take care and I'll say a prayer....

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project

Thanks guys, we made it home safe. 26 hours on the road out of 46 hours was fun Saturday at 5am to Monday at 3am. and now I'm off to NVA for three days of training at my corporate offices. It's killing me not to work on the truck....

Holy Mother of Pearl, looks like your not planning to leave any stone unturned on this project. Sure looks great and great progress in the short time since the beginning! Where do you find the time to get so much done?

Thanks, I have a local custom shop guy helping with the fab work. I feel like the build is taking forever because I don't ever get over there...

Got a few hours this afternoon. Had some more grinding to do. The firewall and driprail are now ready for a skim of filler and paint.

It's 1/8" plate because they had to have it thick for the milling of the letters...

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project

A little work accomplished this evening...

Jason got the chevrolet filler piece welded in as well as the defrost duct filler pieces I fabbed up. I did some grinding and then decided that the rest of the cab needed more attention and started taking off some paint. Looking really good if I do say so myself
