Re: 72 k20 project
Great work! Do you legally need a light on the rear bumper to illuminate the license plate?

Re: 72 k20 project
Don't ever tell a cop "why your headlights dont work?" when he pulls you over for your licence plate not having a light. I know in CO it is a law.

Re: 72 k20 project
Nice work! Those tow hook mounting points bring back some bad memories for my shins.

Thanks!
In colorado, yes, you do have to have a light. there is a plan... but wiring is a ways off. |

Re: 72 k20 project
Thanks for the concern. We are fine and have no current fire issues. i will try to remember to post a picture of what we can see. it is completely amazing the amount of smoke visible from here. unfortunately for the the residents local to that area there is a lot of deadfall and standing dead wood from beetle kill several years ago. from the news ive heard from the local fire authorities, there is almost no chance to save the town of South Fork. very unfortunate, South Fork is a really neat little mountain town. i certainly hope all the residents had time to G.O.O.D with their important belongings. last i heard the wolf creek ski resort had 400 yards separating it from the flames and i would be surprised if it makes it either.

Re: 72 k20 project
That's a pretty good idea. If I ever get that far, I may have to look into that.

Re: 72 k20 project
very true
i have considered a dmax for my next project, but dieselwrencher and 6lcummins keep dangling blue c shaped carrots in front of me.... i didnt want to worry about durability over 500 horse. i know dmaxs live there, but if you juice it up to 6 bills you are in sketchy territory. with this platform i can go bigger without as much risk of going boom. and i get the awesome fuel efficiency of a 12v and unbeatable reliability of a mechanical pump engine compared to all that fancy stuff. |

Re: 72 k20 project
to quote the pop culture train wreck we all know and love,
oops, i did it again thats right, i had to buy another 78-9 ford dana 60. i have a problem. good news comes with 35 spl stubs for all the 4wd burnouts a guy can want.... not visible is the lock right inside. has kingpins rebuilt as well. sadly i had to trade my late model ('96) dana 60 and a few bucks for it, so i am still even on dana 60s. but, i still have the option to buy that one back if i start having withdrawls. not particularly progress, but now i dont have to leave the truck on stands while i build an axle the way i want. not sure if ill use this one or the one in the truck already Ryan |

Re: 72 k20 project
on a side note,
i have been trying not to go insane figuring out where my old steering arm for the jeep is. i had a standard crossover steering arm on it before i built my springless arm/cap. i saw it a few weeks ago, but i cannot for anything remember where. driving me insane!! |
