Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Just got back from a test drive after replacing front coils and shorter rear blocks. Ride quality is better but I don't like the look as much. I'm waiting on new hood hinges so I can throw the hood back on and call it done.

plumbed in new PCV line, fuel, and vacuum advance. Looks nice and not just hoses. I found that spark plug ends fit perfect on the PCV to 3/8 tubing. I've done a bit of small tubing work.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I hate to say it but the lowered look is more my taste. I was going to raise mine back up an inch in the front and 2 in the rear, but now I think I'm only going up an inch in the back, it sits too flat, needs more rake.
I'm thinking about shrink wrap on them to make them black and thanks. |

Slightly higher (almost unnoticeable) in the front, but still looks awesome.

Upgraded the charging system in the truck today. Picked up a full volt and got my wipers to operate normally. Also added brothers trucks fuel fill cover to my cab.

I painted the lines and I like it. I'm waiting for the paint to dry on the new intake bolts to match all black hardware.

I made my windshild washer work.
It turned out to be a lot more work that anticipated, but the cowl really needed a good cleaning out. Now all hoses are new, and the washer works just fine |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
So I cruised down to my NAPA store this morn and bought a tube of Permatex Gear Oil sealer to fix a nuisance leak on the differential cover. Back home and jacked the old girl up, removed the old cover, cleaned every thing up,stuck a shop towel in the housing to keep the gear lube from seeping out while I applied the sealer and gasket. Applied the sealer to the housing cover and proceeded to install the bolts. I was on the fifth bolt when I realized I forgot to take the shop towel out! I had to remove the cover, gasket and clean up the big mess. I don't have pics cause I had sealer all over everything and couldn't touch my I phone. I'll try again tomorrow after I get more sealer. This could have been a catastrophe if the dim light in my brain hadn't come on. That's what I did to my truck today.

Good thing the bulb lit before you went for a drive! It would've been much more work after that.
Anyway: Work done today, hasn't to be done tomorrow. I always think that, when getting in from the garage after a partiqularly bad day |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Ramp truck got a aux set of batteries installed and charge off the truck battery. I also installed a 3 gallon air tank with compressor for road side assistance if needed.
I think Ill buy a small box to cover the batteries and store some rigging stuff also. I have the tilt column working on it also. I found out today the bowl on the tilt is aluminum . I used plumbers putty to fill up the holes. I'll give it a couple of days to harden and see how it does sanding it. I came up with a easy way to keep the bowl from moving also. I took the 2 screws that hold the neutral safety switch and placed longer screws in to hold it in place.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Installed new back up lights that have been sitting on the shelf for years. I rarely drive it at night, so it's not been a big issue. Unfortunately the right side is not working, so I need to investigate.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I haven't had backup lights on my truck since I bought it. It's not too big of a deal. But, those ditches tend to jump out at me when backing out of the driveway.
