Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?
I liked the chrome sway bar also but when i put the cross over steering on i had to take it off it was in the way of the steering but im thinking about chroming the steering bars this spring. the window visors don't do a whole lot they where on there when i got it they will be coming of when its time to paint it and its a chevy i like the gmc grill a lot better then the chevy one im going to put a billet grill in it also. I had and have a lot of parts ready to go on this truck i started to build a crew short bed with these parts and it was to much of a basket case i wanted to drive and built this project and i do this is a daily driver. i already have two other full on projects started.

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?
I picked up this '77 for $900 last summer, and have been driving it most every day. I've replaced the tires w/32" BFG's, and changed the grill for the '80 model. My favorite thing about it is the retro '70's orange interior.

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?
Here are a few pics of my '81' K5... Picked up this super straight, all original 81 K5 Blazer Silverado about 6 months ago... I looked for a long time to find one this original and clean... It is a verified 2 owner truck, bought by the dad new, and sold to the daughter who has been driving it daily for 19 years... Im planning on leaving it stock, and driving it... This is my daily driver/camping/trout fishing vehicle... The motor is a documented 6 year old Mr Goodwrench crate 350, and Turbo 350 trans with 91,000 Miles... The engine and trans were installed by a local chevy dealer (receipts were included)... Since I purchased it, I have installed the following, new radiator, starter, alternator, full A/C conversion to R134 all new parts (dryer, condenser, etc), full tune up, all fluids and filters changed, new belts and hoses, it had a bad rear drive shaft U joint and a couple that were un-greaseable and questionable ones so i replaced them all, new fuel tank and sending unit (old tank developed a hairline crack and fuel gauge did not work), and new tires (32x11.50's)... There are a few cosmetic interior thing that I will get to eventually... Has factory 12 bolt rearend, with 373 gears, fold n tumble rear seat, power windows, door locks, power rear window (which works), tilt, cruise (doesnt work), Factory rear roll bar, delay wipers, factory clock (works), engine and trans oil coolers, its loaded... There is very, very, very little rust (this has been a Georgia truck all it life), and its confined to the infamous passenger floorboards which only have a couple pencil eraser sized spots, everything else is solid... The paint job is about 10 years old and faded, the seats are in great shape (I suspect new seat covers were installed at one point in its life), and the interior overall is complete, solid and in great shape... Here are a few shots...

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?
Nice 81'!!!! I wish I had front tow hooks. Clean engine bay too, also, I haven't seen a grill like yours without the bowtie emblem, it looks really clean I like the year's style.

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?
Thanks... as far as the grill emblem, I believe the grill is a replacement because it is to clean and new looking (most likely from LMC)... And the LMC catalog says "Grill emblem cannot be fitted to reproduction grills"??? We will see about that... As soon as I find a bowtie emblem that does not cost $40 (the NOS ones on ebay are even more), Im gonna install one... Need to go scourer the junk yards and find one...

I still have trouble believing it handles like a Corvette. Unless we're talking about a Corvette with a lift and 39in tires

Re: How about some pics of "4x4" Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?
I have a C5 Corvette also, But Haha! Yeah about the same as if the vette' had some 39.5s ! But I sold my 04' Cummins on 38's with 20's. And my K5 drives SO much better it's crazy. But I can honestly say my 1 ton shorty drives as good as the Vette'. But I'll take more pictures of it when I was her, she's dusty!
