I know this is not a 67-72 but I thought I would post a picture of my 63 that still has its original paint.

CMACDONALD,

You sir have one fine truck! Without a doubt the finest example of original paint patina on a 60-66 era truck. Thanks for posting

Anyone know any details on the Hot Rod City truck? I love the wheel size and stance. Just knowing the wheel size would make me happy .
FYI metalic paint has no rustable metal in it..
it's alum or fish scale

It might be because I come from an era that most guys wouldn't be seen driving to town in such a truck and there are so many around here that look like that that they don't have a lot of appeal.
I really can't understand the thinking of anyone who would spend real money to fake a worn paint job or sign. Buy the truck with worn paint and signs from a long gone shop or lumber yard, sure that might be cool for a while but to take a decent truck and do a fake "patina" job on it doesn't cut it for me.

I have a love for concourse level muscle cars and until a few months ago I completely agreed with you. For some reason the switch flipped for me. Done correctly, I love patina but not overly lowered.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

The TOX truck is really cool, it's a big flatbed tow truck. I tried to track down the owner of that five window pickup but had no luck, the vin had been torched off. Im going to go back out there and see if the TOX truck has the vin still in place. It would make one kick a** car hauler.

I too used to hate this stuff but i have a nova that i spent $$$$ on painting and don't get me wrong i like pretty paint but i get so tired of trying to protect it. I started finding my self more and more attracted to patina paint that i drive my old multi colored truck to cruises and stuff now and the car sits in garage. I planed to have a nice paint job on my truck but not anymore i fixing whats left of the rust and gonna do body work and patina it

Future plans are to install the original 350 engine from my Corvette and a 5 speed from a late model truck, add front disc brakes, patch up the holes in the cab floor and dress up the interior. Then, I can haul my buddy Ace (the German Shepherd in the back) around in RotRod style.

Ain't old pickup trucks fun?

Jon
I like this truck a whole lot...especially the red stripe on the rallies, and the plans for the manual tranny. Needs just a little more drop, IMHO. Good looking pup, too!

I know there are a couple pictures of these trucks in this thread already, but I took these pics yesterday at Goodguy's in Charlotte. Both of these trucks were running on the autocross course:

Hey Thanks JB,

I have been considering lowering it just a little, no more than 2-3 inches. I picked up a 5 speed trans from a '92 GMC SWB truck at Pull-A-Part in Nashville. I got everything that I need to make the swap including the clutch master cylinder, the shifter, the cross member and the drive shaft yoke for less than $100.00. Not a bad deal. Can't wait to get it installed! Thanks again for the compliments.

Wow, that's a deal...PAP has great prices, if you can find what you're looking for. The only thing is, I can never get anybody on the phone to ask about their inventory, so it's tough to know whether it's worth the trip or not.

Great pics, but why did they change the wheels on the BAPST truck? To each their own...
