Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
YAY its easter early.... Bunny was at my house today. He left this for me. This thing is amazing. I cant beleve how advaced all the wiring is. It a work of art. Uses very nice connectors, all GM sensors so if one fails i can just go to well any were to get new one, plug and play fuel pump harness dont have to wire anything extra for the fuel pump. Just plug the relay harness in and run wire to pump. It can even pump idle up for A/C and controll fan on/off temp has a check engine light. I now see whay it cost so much. Must have tons of R&D time in it. Cant wait to install everything and test it out.

I wouldn't go there either. Should be safety only on a 68, regardless of engine. If you have all of the required items to pass safety, it shouldn't matter. It's not like California here (yet).

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
What does your rig weigh? Lots of mass is hard to overcome. Our pilot at work has a 2500hd with a 6.0 that gets about 8 mpg around town but he has a 250 gallon 100LL tank in the back. Can't wait to see the install! The quality of that kit looks first class.

Think it is about 6000lbs The 5-7 is mix 50-50 street and highway. With old motor i go 8. That was a wore out 350 with rich q-jet. Had to punch it everyware to go.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I could not beleave the quality of the kit. I was expeciting way less. Sad to say but some of the after market stuff is just junk. The harness is first class and all the connectors are what you would find under the hood of a brand new car. Uses all gm sensors and tags on the end of all wires and pig tails. No guessing to where to plug them in. It has a wiring diagram that is exactly the same as what peterbilt uses. So i can under stand it well. It even says the ecu is water tight with the harness connected. Has a 1 year warrenty also.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I do need to get my truetrac installed. I smoked my TIRE therw first and second gear today leaving pepboys. Covered both lanes pretty thick. Smelled great. Have not smelled rubber like that in 4 years when my wife still had her 68 gmc. Brang lots of good memories back.

Me too. I have read like 10 diff fourms and only had one actual complaint and that was on here. Tons of people have done it on corvett fourms and few on ls1tech and lots of others. I feel confident in the system after looking at the product i was sent. Cant wait to install it.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
So i noticed my truck was pinging today on way home. Was in 4th at about 1200 rpm and lightly pushed on pedal and heard it ping. Would i go up or down with the timing. I am pretty sure lowering the number is the right thing to do right.....

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Yep, dial it back a bit & you should be fine - or step up to a higher octane fuel if you're just using the low grade stuff.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I am using low grade fuel. I will set timing back a few degrees and see what happens. Cant afford higher grade fuel right now and arm and leg a gallon

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
So i went to the parts store and asked for a coolant temp sensor for a 03 2500hd with a 6.0 and measured the resistance and found that it has same exact resistance as the one that came with my efi kit.
Also had to take wifes toyota out to pasture and shoot poor thing. We just had new wheel bearing, both front axles and all rotors and pads replaced and now the trans is leaking fluid out the cv axle seals. Has 252,xxx miles on it now so we went to toyota to look at getting different car. Long story short ended up with 05 chevy malibu 4 door LS V6. Was looking at a 03 monte carlo ss but looks like it had ran a full length NASCAR race. Bumper was scratched and paint was rubbed off all over the place. Was a good deal cause i told them what i wanted to pay for a payment and we got a lot nicer car then i had expected to get. Only has 60,xxx miles on it. So did not get any thing done on burb today. Maybe tomorrow

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Here are pics. I love the seats and interior colors. Only 60,xxx miles and in perfict condition pretty much. Has clunk when turning that the dealer is going to fix and radio does not accept cds they will fix that as well. Also have 36/36000 warranty that covers everything just like a new car would. And she is off my back about her crappy car. And we are even now.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Also mounted my ecm and set up the harness. Removed few wires that i did not need and shortend my batt wires that power it. Looks like the best place i could put it. Wanted to mount it inside but it is water proof with the harness pluged in to it so outside will be just fine. Hope to finish this month maybe next week end.

Sure dont live there any more thank goodness. Our trailer was in need of a big dumpster. The park was ok but our unit was smooth wore out. The owners were ok as well. What trailer did you live in.
