Yep...she's a Californian now...she's gonna take the 20 over to the 22 then across the 78 thru the 40 then the 15 over to the 5.

....best case scenario for me...no better home. Thanks D.

Lets hope Del doesn't get any funny ideas. Would hate to see this one converted to 4x2 and bagged like K5Larry. LOL.

Man, I don't know...Larry is awesome...I'm counting on him getting lots of funny ideas like that...bagged or not it's Delmo, the truck just got cooler by association. She's trading in anxiety for attitude. Her life expectancy also increased. Her long term prospects here in Georgia are mainly diabetes and rust.

I love K5Larry too, but Larry didn't start out as a fully restored K5. Maybe he'll go the route of the recent Travis Barker build he did. I agree, it just got cooler now that Del owns it.

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

I am just now coming back but I am too late to see that awesome build and answer any questions. So sorry i was not there for you. I got busy with my wife's new business some 3-4 years ago and lost extra time. The 1970 Blazer was done and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Sold it in June and now have a 1965 Impala Convertible to love on. AWESOME 1970 BLAZER you did!!!!! I am so humbled that you referenced my project! Glad you got yours sold and moving on. I saw some of the work you did, It was amazing. I did not have to do that much. Good luck to you and God Bless you. If you ever come to southeast Missouri look me up in Poplar Bluff!

Thanks Don...your build was very influential for me. I referenced it quite a lot. You always had great pics. You can't beat that. Best of luck with the Impala.

Thanks Pete...I like this skinny tire shot too. It looks like an honest to goodness original there.

....I'm not going anywhere. I enjoyed this process and you all too much. My garage isn't any bigger, but we'll keep our eyes peeled for something worthwhile...if for no other reason than to have a project.

Hey Brad,

Sad to see it go but it will be interesting to follow another build. I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge on this build and the things you learned along the way was a good lesson for the rest of us.

Looking forward to seeing what is next

Take care,
Tom

Guys, I super appreciate the sentiment and all your support and encouragement through this build...but I have felt lately like the only happy guy at a funeral. I keep getting condolences. My folks, my wife, my friends...you guys...but it's OK. I've got nothing but good feelings. I'm psyched Delmo got her. I learned a bunch. I got some really good before and after pics. This thread will be here...an easy re-live. And I made great new friends. It has become a great big win-win-win. I'm happy as a clam.

...and who knows...I enjoyed this way too much not to do it again.

Thanks to you all.

Any idea which direction Delmo will take her, I mean he can't make her prettier, right?

Jim, you're nice...whatever he does, I'm sure it'll be awesome, even if it's nothing.

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

An epilogue of sorts...when we got done, we seemed to have a whole truck left over. I had seen the tailgate benches/shelves on the board and elsewhere and thought it'd be a useful and cool thing to have. Eric is still working the model "A" pictured in a previous posts, but I think he wanted a bit of a break and cranked the tailgate out. After we hung it...he says, "you know we could do the front too." ...How could I not?... It is kind of weird though...not necessarily like mounting Trigger, but it does kind of feel like getting eyeballed everyday when I pull in the garage....debated the 71/72 bumper...it is how it came to me, so there's sentiment to keep it. But I think I'll be on the look out for a solid one. Eric did a great job airbrushing in Chevrolet while keeping the patina vibe. Thanks again Dwayne for the taillight hardware/lenses.
