we all know that wont happen....youve seen the sign on the wall "you want a discount, buy this store" or something like that...he should give us guys that spend alot of money with him a break every now and then...something like spend 500 bucks and get 50 off or get something 1/2 off one item not to exceed xxx dollar amount...

what do you like about it? honestly, cause it just pisses me off more and more every day that its not done... hope i can still get the poppers and lines from you...that'll get me one step closer too...

Haven't seen a round door one on a stepside yet. Maybe you can lead the way.

I think I would be shopping elsewhere if they don't treat regular customers a little better.

I had it planned for my fleetside but I thought the stepside had similar lines so I suggested it. I think it looked best right about where the marker light is located on my stepside when I took the pic. Should be well clear of the tire there too.

Well thats what i was thinking. instead of shaving both markers, put the door in place where the marker sits. just gotta somehow make it work...

The column that was pointed out doesnt have a neutral safety switch, how do you go around that and do i really need one..??

Re: My 68 swb build.

Roger's prices are the same or lower than ordering on the web and paying shipping so I can't complain, plus you can look at the parts before you buy. He gives a little break on some of his used parts, like my console. But backorders are a PITA there. Still waiting for my black dash pad..........

I was thinking of trying to blend a marker light housing into the gas door. There should be enough depth if you lose the gas cap holder tabs off the inside of the door.

I dug out one of my new marker lights and set it over the 88-98 truck gas door. It is pretty close in size and could be put right over the top with just a relief cut for the light socket part. Not enough room to blend a fender marker light piece into the fuel door to partially recess the marker light like stock.

In the top pic the marker light is at an angle because of the light socket port on the back. Sorry about the out of focus pic of the gasket on the door but you can at least see the marker light outline is just about perfect to match the gas door. No idea what the camera was focusing on there.

Re: My 68 swb build.

That color is my favorite and I like the shave that you have on it. Typically dont like shaved drip rails but yours looks great. And sweet headlights. Plus I think that it has to be my favorite 68 that I've seen yet (I'm a 71/72 fan). Just looks right. Someday if u need help I might be able to come help u out when I come up to Outback anyway. Would like to see in person. Damn and like slickrick I need a black dash pad too

Re: My 68 swb build.

Start at the top and work your way down with the windshield. Use a paint stir stick to push things around so they fit.

I did it by myself this way without breaking it and had never done that type of windshield seal before.

Re: My 68 swb build.

The ride height looks great and the tire size fits the wheel wells very well. Nice choice on both.

Not really that important with a carb but it is a safety feature to keep it from being started in gear. NHRA requires one so if you ever want to race it you will need it.

I would try to make it work if possible. The last thing you want is for it to take off on you when you thought it was in park and didn't have your foot on the brakes.

Re: My 68 swb build.

Use lots of soapy water or some guys use wd-40 to lube them up. Put the whole gasket in, put the glass in at the bottom and let the weight hold it in place, just work your way around with a dull/rounded pick or windshield tool. Easy said than done. I have cracked a few in my time usually right at the end.
