The adapter for the high pressure side of the power steering came in today and worked as advertised so the power steering is now hooked up.

Ok so I'm making progress but I don't want to get too excited because I have a ways to go yet to reach daylight.

At this point I want to hear the engine run so here is the shortlist.
1) Buy a battery.
2) Wire ignition switch.
3) Re-work fuel line from filter to rail.
4) Hook up temporary oil pressure, coolant temp and alternator voltage gauges.
5) Change out the spark plugs.

I am probably forgetting something but I will take care of what ever comes up as needed.

I purchased an Optima red top 800 CCA battery today, that should get the job done.

I got up early this morning and reworked the fuel line.
After that was done I headed down to the auto parts store and purchased some NGK Iridium IX spark plugs.

Hey all:

Today when I went to install the spark plug wires on the passenger side I noticed the boot was touching the header which wont do because they will get way too hot and possibly melt so I purchased a Taylor Cable 92046 spark plug wire set because they have 135 degree angled boots to accommodate the Doug Thorley headers.

You will get it George, just call around until you find someone who has experience with gasket windshields.

I did. found (find) a company that most of his work is on classic and he is cheaper than the first guy.

Hey all;

I am in a partial planning stage of the wiring harness and for this go around I'm working on the neutral safety switch wiring.
I didn't know if I had the Neutral safety sub harness because the main harness was hacked to bits, after digging it all out I found the sub harness intact still connected to the trunk right where it should be.
With the original neutral safety sub harness found I can integrate it into the new harness.

Hey Bryan:
I got in touch with Vic and he said that the Edlebrook electric choke carb. comes with it's own choke system. All I need is single wire coming from the ignition switch (hot) and it will work. the carb has two wires, one - and one + so my problem is solved. One will be a ground coming from the frame or motor anywhere. For I will be using a eldebrock carb. I think the number is #1402. So when do you think you will be able to start the engine?
It looks like yours will start before mine. but who is racing anyway.

I'm on hold for a bit I need to save up a little bit of cash.
I gotta buy a windshield and have it installed.
I also gotta go down to the muffler shop to have stainless steel exhaust installed.
As soon as that's done I will post up a video.

What size of exhaust, mufflers and are you running it out the back?
Two major items getting crossed off the list.

Looks sweet! I need to find some trailing arms for mine. My drivers side is pretty rusty. Hope I can get some before my CPP drop kit gets here.

Stainless 2.5" with an X-pipe and dual 3" body stainless resonators to the back of the cab then I'm thinking about going to aluminized from there and dump it in front of the rear axle.
The plan is to drive it around the block once the resonators are installed and see what it sounds like and decide if I want mufflers or not.
If it turns out I want mufflers then I will run stainless up to the mufflers then aluminized from there on and dump it in front of the rear axle.

Hey all;
After I have had ample time to think about it I have come to the conclusion that given the opportunity to do it all over again I would use factory location LS adapter plates and relocate the A/C compressor up to the top of the engine.
I spent way too much time, money and effort and whats worse other peoples time trying to keep it in the stock location and if I were to leave it there I would have to spend even more money to make it work so I'm going to go ahead and relocate it anyway so all that crap I did was a complete waste.
Lesson learned and hopefully someone else can learn from my mistakes and relocate it to avoid this mess all together.

What do you guys think of these wheels, they are US Wheel gunmetal sport mag.
The only thing I'm wondering is if a 4.5" backspace on a 18x8 wheel will clear the lip on the wheel well if I decide to slam the truck later.
