Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

thanks guys for all the nice words about the truck.I bought it from John a member on the board, he did a great on it, thanks for the name of the color John because i did not know,as far as the suspension it has 2 inch drop spindles,no c-notch.Compressor is electric,as far as controls it works great, one thing i really like is that i can pull up dump the bags and when i start the ignition the bags will raise up automatically to a pre determined ride height.COOL RIDE is the name of the kit, firestone bags. thanks, Dan

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

I am in awe over this truck. It's got the PERFECT stance and wheel combo. Unlike some of the others that have commented I actually do like the big wheel bling-bling mega bagged look. But also, as others have said, I think the stance and wheel/tire combo on your truck really mix the big wheel trend and the classic style of these trucks perfectly.

So I gotta ask again, do you have any more info on the wheels and tires?

18x? with ? backspacing
20x? with ? backspacing
What brand of tires? I've found a few in the sizes you mentioned, but was just wondering what you have on there.

Also, I'm putting a big-block in my 67 and was wondering which brand headers you have? Are they full-length or 3/4 length? How's ground clearance?

Again, thanks for posting these pictures, easily one of the nicest trucks I've ever seen.

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

Yes, I would have to agree with Kevncar. This is exactly the stance I am after with my '72 Cheyenne, I am bagging it, with 18's and 20's and a 50 series tire.

What wheel width and backspacing did you use?

BTW, Dan, absolutely gorgeous example, of all the trucks I have seen, this one is the best! Nice job!

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

I did some searching for any of Danny's post and found some more info on the wheels. They are 18x8 with 4-1/2" BS and 20x10 with 5-1/4" of BS.

Still curious about the tire brand and headers though.

Thanks, kevncar, I hadn't used the search function yet (new to the site), but I have now pulled up the same threads.

Thanks, Danny, for posting that info before.

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

thanks john, that's one hell of a truck. You deserve a pat on the back too, atleast from what I gather, you did the paint, and major wrenching before selling it to Danny, right?

Not to bring up a possible sore subject, but do you regret sending it down the road?

It was a beautiful truck when danny bought it, but man what a difference a slight drop and some new shoes can make.

thanks for the info.

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

yeah it turned out nice, its always had a big drop 21/2 spidels on small block springs and 5inch drop coils in the back before dan put the bags in it.if i didn't sell it i would be able to save another one.i like wrenching on them, that truck took me about four years before i was done.dans the one that made the truck a eye popper that it is now. but thanks for the complaments, john

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

This picture looks like it was taken before Dan put the bags on it. If this is true, what drop did he have on it here. I think someone said just 2 1/2" drop spindles up front and 5" coils out back..............does this sound right to everyone? I am trying to achieve the same stance on my 69' as in this picture of Dan's. Could someone help me out?

Sorry.... That's more drop than spindles & 5" rear springs.

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

I would say 2.5" spindals and 2" drop springs in the front...and guessing 5" drop coils in the back.

John said it always had a big drop, because he is using the 2.5" spindles and a small block front spring in a truck with a big block. My guess would be 5"-6" drop in the front.

Re: Blue bagged w/ pics

Ah, the revived 3 year old thread......

Really there is no reason to "doubt" the bagging. The pic of the Air ride controller should mean something?
First of all, no one specifically said that those pics were taken "aired-out".
Spindles and bags alone won't get you dragging the rockers anyway, so it is possible that those pics are indeed "aired-out". It takes a lot more to get lower....Z-ing, drop-member, etc.
