Re: The birth of trailing arms
Those look excellentl, better than any aftermarket I have seen, great job !
Any plans on making some more ? The next pair would go faster for sure now that the design is pretty much figured out. Bet you could sell some (for offroad usage only and a big disclaimer).

Re: The birth of trailing arms
if i might make a suggestion, where the u- bolts go thru the tube weld in some sch 40 or 80 inserts so the tube dont collapse when you tighten the u-bolts.
great work though. bob |

Re: The birth of trailing arms
Thanks for the replys, I dont think it is possible to collapse the tubing where the ubolts go through. There is 2"x3" tubing with 3/16" plates on top and bottom.

Re: The birth of trailing arms
If you want you can send me a set and I'll test them with 1000hp! I 'll watch them real close and keep you updated! If they live under my truck you would be fine to sell them!
Kevin Have you weighed them by chance?

Re: The birth of trailing arms
I actually layed these out on top of my old ones. I can measure them but its hard to be accurate with the angle and trying to figure out the holes unless you have a pattern you are going by. They are an exact match to the factory ones but using 2"x3" tubing and 3" flat.

Re: The birth of trailing arms
Sorry to bring this thread backfrom so long ago but it is GREAT! I plan on making my own (and was just going to use your build thread as an example). I guess I'll need to go hit a few scrap yards or get lucky on CL, (but who is gonna sell me one? lol) to use as a template. Doesnt seem too far out of my fabricating comfort level.
What did you use to make the bend? Bending 1/4" sq tube aint no joke. It would be too bad to Z cut, weld, and gusset I suppose. I think I'll make my own cross member as well for weight- it'd be a snap to make tubular one. Thanks again!

Re: The birth of trailing arms
I bet a bend could be done and the aleaviate the stress point? These are sweet and could be done on the cheap (although steel prices are retarded now!)

Re: The birth of trailing arms
Those make me feel like a sissy for buying the nascar arms and not building my own. You did some fine work on them and they look like a $500 set of arms to me.
