Re: I am Younger/Older than my truck

Im much, much, much older than my trucks. Heck I've owned my trucks longer than a lot of you folks been alive. Problem is they look old too! I guess faster than me applies also. The 72 has definitely done more work for me than I've done for it. Jimmy is first in line tho. Fun thread!

I came out in '77. My truck was celebrating it's 50th anniversary in '68. 9 years before I was a twinkle in Momma's eye.

Re: I am Younger/Older than my truck

I was 10 when dad bought the 69 used in 72, so I had to be 6 when my GMC was hatched in 68.

Re: I am Younger/Older than my truck

I am 10 years older than my 67 and I am faster right now too. Once I finish the 350 and 700r4 install I sure hope it is faster than me.

Let's put it this way......I drove a brand new bare bones 69 c10 (no options except for factory painted special color) in my employment and I had been working for quite a few years at that time.

Re: I am Younger/Older than my truck

My 67 K10 has a few years on me, like 11, but since it has a granny trans, 4.11 gears and a 292... I am WAY faster. Especially since it's in pieces right now.

Re: I am Younger/Older than my truck

Yeah well, I'm a good bit older than my 69. I can say this project has a youthfull effect on me, so to speak. I am doing things to this one I couldn't afford to do when I was 15. And when it's on the road I'm gonna burn some rubber and maybe raise a little hell too, for a while. Then I'll go back to being an adult.

I can relate Boog. Im 6 years older than my 69. It seems like I forget all the good things, but as much as I try, I always remember how OLD I am...

I wish I was still 34 years old like my '72! I'm a 1959 model and remember watching TV shows like Combat in black and white.

If we're using the build date rather than the model year, my Burb and I are the same age--35.

Re: I am Younger/Older than my truck

It was my Grandfathers and he just passed it on to me, he said it was time to get it running again. That and I remember he used to let me drive it around the field with him riding shotgun when I was a kid, man those were the days.

Thumbs up Re: I am Younger/Older than my truck

I got a 71 that was given to me by my mother after my step fater died in 2004. So I'm older by 12 years (by the way first post of my truck).
Unfortunately I T-boned a 2004 Mazda crew cab a couple of months ago, so that has started my frame off resto.
