Re: this is not right

guys, do not turn this into a classified post. It is fine to ask where to buy parts etc, but when you start buying and selling in the post it is a for sale.. classified area only. I would hate to see this get shut down, due to ya'll being nice.

3mph? you sure it wasnt 30?

Re: this is not right

On the hood and cowl? The PO primered over about 3 different colors and didn't do any prep. It was a work in progress before the wreck. We should have it back on the road this weekend almost 15 months later.

Yours should be much easier.

I was not trying to hate, and am not now.. but your story is very unbelievable. I grew up in the fire dept and was on many calls, and the damage incurred with your wreck does not look like a 3 mph hit at all. My x was driving my 66 gto and hit a shopping cart return at 15 or so, and it barely even have a ding. Josh hit a wall ( shh dont tell him I said that) in the 69 at 10mph once and had ALOT less damage then that. When I was 16 or so, I use to smack into my moms car daily pulling in the driveway ( cause it was funny to watch happen) and never so much as left a ding.. We all make mistakes, we all mess up and we hopefully learn from that. Just dont lie to the lawyer, d.a or judge cause they will know the truth.

Re: this is not right

mmmm donuts...

My question would be, if you were only going "3mph", why couldn't you move the steering wheel to avoid it. My dad and I (who is 70 yo) just got done w/ a frame off rest on his 71 GMC 1500 SWB step. We had to buy new repro fenders at $180 each due to the pass side being rusted out at bottom front and a dent in rear, and driver side being dented BAD. I wish I would have whacked a pole so someone would offer to give me a clip for it...

The chrome bumper bolts thread off like any other bolt.I`ve never heard a horn make a grinding noise when turning sharp.Might be related to the weak and low problem.

I don't know about the horn. It's probably not electrical if it will make some sound. You can try to clean the connections on the ground wire but you'll likely have to replace it.

Grinding when you steer it may be the inner fender is crunched around the steering shaft or the tire/wheel is rubbing on something. When you get the parking lot art sculpture off you probably won't hear any grinding and it will be easier to spot any hidden damage.

I know you insist it was 3mph but I think those horns are made of the same stuff they use on the airplane black boxes (J/K)
