Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

I say keep it ocrah, I like that look on our trucks! Afterall its your truck and personally, if I was paying someone $1500 and they made comments like that I'd be real careful of the quality. Its Just my opinion but comments like that are pretty unprofessional and may indicate just how professional the paint job may look in the end. I had a guy make a similar comment about a custom exhaust system on my Blazer. In the end there was some issues about installation quality and the reply I got was along the lines of "I said I didnt like it like that" I said "You are right, you did, but I never agreed to compromise the quality for your opinion of what I wanted." I am an ass ....I want it my way and thats that! LOL Just my .02.

Start a poll at the top of the thread. Looks like keeping the Orche is the popular vote.

I agree with LHM: Keep it but add white below the lower trim to match the top

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

I'm a fan of Ochre with a white top, full trim, and no white between the trim or on the bottom. But, I'm biased because my truck that I've had for over 7 years now has that color scheme...here is an older pic....try to imagine ochre where the primer spot is

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

Ochre it is!!!
Word from my paint shop is the block sanding is done and the paint is going on Monday. They want an extra $200 for the white below the trim vs. just the white top, so I have this weekend to think that over.

Can't wait to see more pics. Anybody have any more of the white below the lower trim?

I agree. My '71 Cheyenne was ochre and white. I called it "baby diaper yellow".

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

Well, here's an update. The paint finally got done and came out great, in my opinion.

Here's some pics, and I owe one to Longhorn Man for suggesting to paint below the trim white. It definitely helped. I've had nothing but thumbs up since. Yep, I can't believe it either...

Too bad my battery won't charge, but that's a different topic.

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????

A few things:
a. Your painter doesn't understand classic trucks, but he did do a great job for the money.
b. Your truck looks awesome.
c. I am not making fun of the color, but every time I hear someone say Ochre I think of:

Not as good if you're talking White on top and Ochre on the bottom...imho! Ochre doesn't compliment White as well as White compliments Ochre...

BTW your truck looks really, really good...
