Re: 66 slammed hearse

LOL your fab skills are pretty good?... I'm looking at your truck and I was just thinking... easy to do when it's not your...LOL

How about something like a cowl induction hood... like the old Chevelles? I may have to search around a bit not sure if anything is repo like that...

Again great job on getting it to this point... I'm sure that the knee is slowing you down .....

Re: 66 slammed hearse

OH I found one and they would be HAPPY to sell it ....$495

This is a 4" cowl hood and I'm not thinking this drastic maybe a 2" or something like it...

Re: 66 slammed hearse

Thanks Joe, I will give them a call. Ya, this knee slows me down a bunch. Damn lowered rig, I cant get to the ground and when I do I cant get up. Its even better when I get under it. I have the brakes all plumbed and as soon as I get some hoses for the front, it should stop. Lucky for Soba I dont have the hoses yet. Not sure what to do on the steering yet, but I have a few options. I like the cowl hood, but its just not right for this project. I am liking the visor idea more and more.

Re: 66 slammed hearse

Got some brake hoses today, but need a couple of fittings to plumb them in. No biggie, all I need now is tierod ends and then adjusters to make them work. A little more rust repair to weld in and its road worthy and off to the interior shop. horah!

Re: 66 slammed hearse

ol' dirty scored some more toys for the burban. A gauge cluster with a FACTORY TACH! woo hoo! finally! also got a decent grille and front bumper. My welder is still down, so I cant finish the rust repair. may have to cruise down to my buddys place with no door and fender to finish.

Re: 66 slammed hearse

The big brown truck visited me again, and dropped off some new 2 me parts for the burb. Factory Tach! Sorry the picture sucks, but I just had to share my excitement with people who dig this stuff.(my wife could care less that I just got an original 40+year old tachometer)

Thanks for the link fleet, I have their front glass fenders and they dont fit well at all. I would hope their hoods fit better. I am not sure if I am going to do the cowl hood, but a visor for sure. Somthing like this...
