I do IT at a bank. Information Technology that is, doing it at the bank would get me fired.

Anything from comm problems to ordering atms - they don't let me play with the money

Automotive tech for the last 12 years. Mainly try to deal with drivability diagnostics when the works there. Otherwise general automotive, import or domestic and light truck of any kind. ASE Master certified (somewhat of a joke but it pays extra )

Sr. Tech. at AVAYA install and service ATM and ethernet networks. Been in the business for about 25 years, 23 at this job went through 4 companies and never changed jobs. Prefer ATM networks OC-12 and OC-3 I like the guaranteed service and the way different service is split out. Just installed a converged 10GIG ethernet network with VOIP, Video, Data. Life is good!

Manufacturing Engineer: we make flexible duct work, and sealing rings (expensive piston rings) for all the jet engine manufactures, and sell directly to commercial airlines.

Even make some parts for space shuttle and nuclear reactors on the carriers.

Stuck here in Indiana, whine: but wanting to move back to WA/Or area where I grew up. If anybody is looking :

I am a Machine Operator/Maintenance technician on a 4 million dollar machine the size of a house that makes napkins in a paper mill. Very boring job but it pays great and I work a 12 hour rotating shift and am off 14 days a month...

I work at a parts store/machine shop doing parts sales and running the machine shop. Kinda good cause I can spend other peoples money building big horsepower engines. Great deal on parts too.

I'm a Engineer for a casino here in Reno. Not that bad at 24, I get to work on a little bit of everything.

I am a Heavy Equipment Mechanic by trade I guess, but it is too dirty a job for me and not that rewarding. I have also sold realestate and been a slot mechanic. I am always looking for some thing better. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up yet. I envy those of you who have it all figured out... Pete

I'm a Raybond Operator for US Forest Industries.

I take your standard 8' long plywood and make it up to 17' long through a process of Finger Joint, Glue Resin and a 440v RF Press.

Was an IT/Communications technician for 20+ years, now I'm teaching the stuff for the Air Force. The call it Computer/Communications Sciences. In addition to the comm/network stuff I teach Project Management principles. I build compuyers and do IT work on the side for some small businesses in the area.

For fun, I hit myself with big flipping hammers...although I would sometimes like to use that 5lb sledge on the computers

Senior H.R. Consultant for Cessna Aircraft Co, Wichita KS. I started there as an A&P mechanic many moons ago, drove a catia tube for a while (Computer drafting/engineering program), delivered Caravans for a while, blahblahblah. Now I mostly teach folks how to shoot a straight rivet, why cleaning $10k plastic windshields with windex and a dirty rag is a bad idea etc. I'm also a flight instructor, but I don't fly much any more. My wife put up with enough wierd hours before the kids got here, so I'm I'm hanging around the house nights and weekends while they're little (ages 2 & 4). I haven't had a tool box at work in a long time, so I would probably go insane-o if I didn't have something at home to tinker on. I'm a farm kid from southern Mo. and have always loved these old trucks, so it seemed like a natural fit.

Pont, Heavychevy, don't feel inadequate. It's slugs like us who actually build the product, put up a building or haul it to the customer, who make the profit for the Man.

Right now I'm a press operator for a small business forms company in southeast KS. I will be graduating from Pittsburg State University Dec. 2003 with a BS in Printing Mgt. and a minor in business. So if there's anybody out there with a job on the east coast I'll be ready after then. Got to pay back those damn loans.
PS If there is anyone wanting to go into the automotive tech industry, PSU has a state of the art facility and donations from large corporations around the counrtry. I understand it is a very good program with a 2yr and 4yr degree.

I salute all you truck drivers, except most of them in Kentucky. You guys do a pretty rough job with high demands and are always away from your families.
