LOL I'm a big dummy. Yes I have noticed that DA can strip tenths away in seconds. I'm putting a new built spec converter in Friday night. They say 5-7% slip only. We will see.

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
Thanks guys. I'm glad its coming around. Now I have a good base. I can start power tuning on timing and jets now. Maybe I can get a tenth or so more out of it. Sure would be nice to get a 11.49 out of it before the tracks close.
It would give me some thing to do over winter. Body work and a Roll bar set up. Maybe a bar set up that's legal to get my license W/ help from a Speed tech N20 system. |

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
how quick do you think a 1972 blazer with a 598 around 800hp with 3.90 gears,29.5 mt et drag radials,a th400 w/o footbrake and a tight 3200 ati converter. rear suspension is ladder bar coil over and vehicle should way about 3000lbs. Im thinking it should run in the low tens. its all metal except for the hood and top. Thanks for any opinions given.

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
I would be surprised if you got it that light but I would say 9's if you get it to 3000lbs.

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
I agree with dj, i would think 3000lbs in a blazer would be very hard to accomplish, it's hard enough to get a truck that light.... i would say in the 9's at 3000 also..

Re: post latest 1/4 and 1/8 mile times and 60ft.
my blazer is 104 wheel base, and the info i found online about these rigs even with 4x4 and leafs plus 205 tcase and full interior with v8 was said 2 be 3600 lbs. If this is correct i have shed quite a bit of weight and should be very light for full metal body. thanks 4 your guys input.

dont feel bad i thought i done all the good on mine till i rolled the scales at baytown. i cried all the way back to the trailer. it weighed 3525 with me in it. so i say fatman fab a little fiberglass where you can.if that doesnt work then NOS fogger and pill it till you kill it.
