Re: I was just told of a 72 4x4 cheyenne

Well, I never have had much love for the longbeds, but that one is pretty nice. AC and the other stuff would have made my heart stop I think, but I am sure you have gotten yourself an excellent deal!! I would own that thing today if you decided to sell since it is so original and nice! Congrats on the deal!

Re: I was just told of a 72 4x4 cheyenne

WOW!!
Just brought it home. Drives real nice--lots of power--runs smooth--no air leaks in cab when driving--everything works-- he threw in the extra parts--service records, protect o plate, owners manual, origional 72 service manual, 1972 title--origional jack in place and handles still wrapped in foam with bag--unused spare tire on wheel--etc--etc
I was planning on turning it, BUT now i just don,t know.

If you don't keep that 4x4 and do the resto on it, you've lost your mind.

Dayum! Dat is NIIIIIIIIICE!

Sometimes I wish I didn't jump on buying my Blazer so fast, but then I have never run up on any nice stuff like that anyway.

Congrats and good score!

I'll answer my own earlier question, thank to that last pic... looks exactly like my TravelTanks -- a common dealer-installed item back in the day.

I'll say it again, congrats on a great deal on an excellent survivor!!

Re: I was just told of a 72 4x4 cheyenne

Dang,
Its already up to $5000 on E-bay and still hasn't met reserve. Too bad you didn't offer it to someone on the board first? It would have been a good truck to keep in the family!

High bidder seems a little suspicious to me. Does lots of bidding, but no buying! I would bid except I think someone may be running the bid up.

I think I'll bid on the orange one instead.

Good Luck

john

ps-- It looked better with the 16's instead of the ralleys.

Re: I was just told of a 72 4x4 cheyenne

I'm not a big fan of threads like this that just turns out to be a "FLIP"....As you get excited for someone thinking that they are going to enjoy the vehicle themselves....

I'm all about making dough and I've flipped my share......but this thread to me is just kinda silly!

And It sure looks like some "SHILL" bidding going on with that truck ??

Re: I was just told of a 72 4x4 cheyenne

Hey --Lighten up on me guys. I bought my first 72 4x4 in 1975. I still have it.
I bought my 1971 c10 short fleetside plain jane pickup over 25 years ago. I still have it. I bought my 71 short fleet 4x4 five years ago. I still have it.
I built my 70 project on this site and sent many pictures while doing so, with the intension of selling it by last July. I still have it.
Now this guys son ask me to buy his dads pickup (knowing i'm into them) so his dad doesn't turn it into a trap wagon. I'm passing it on to somebody that wants one.I even ask here whats a fair price. I have had 7 people from this site contact me. Money is tight. Please ---If you want it--TELL ME.
Why do ya want to drag ME to your fire???

Re: I was just told of a 72 4x4 cheyenne

There is nothing wrong with free enterprise, that is what makes America great! However, I am not a fan of buying - selling our type of vehicles on e-bay. I watch many auctions out of interest and it seems the sales are never completed to legit buyers who submit feedback and show an increase in their e-bay score. I recently saw the stats on how many vehicles are now sold on e-bay, it is impressive. Maybe it works for newer junk? The bidding on this truck is definitely suspect, where does this this guy with little history but some bidding on video games, a new e-bayer and he decides to bid on a $5000+ classic truck? I would much prefer the buy with type transaction that occured with this truck previously. Parts, I will buy on e-bay, vehicles forget it!
