Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

Tim,The ol' 60 is up and running.I got it unstuck only to find a bad head gasket. She smoked like a stove!
So, while I had it apart I put in a new set of rings and ground the valves and rebuilt the carb(had a couple of bent push rods too).Seems to have a lot more power now.I got it up to 75 mph, probably faster than it had ever gone before!!!

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

thanks for the mount info, I made a set last night using the template. Fits the GENIII mount perfect, dont have a sbc mount to test fitment yet though.

In your pic I see you have the tank pressure sensor connected, is it necessary? also, did you only use the feed and return lines or did you use the black box(dont know what it is).

I know it has been a while, but was relooking this thread over and wondered how this truck is doing.

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

Unfortunately it hasn't changed very much. It's been so much fun driving it,as is and seeing the looks on peoples faces when I open the hood.I've been accumulating parts for a complete frame off build and I've still got a few to go before I tear it apart. Thanks for asking about it anyway.I'm planning on building a bigger shop this fall and starting the build this winter.

Nice work, I am building a 64 burb with the 5.3L. What Headers or manifolds did you end up using?

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

Olsofti,
When you get time tell me about that gauge setup you are using. Multiple pics if you can and how you wired that bad boy in there? If I can get rid of my customs and go factory I would be much happier. I am doing an l 92 6l80e combo myself. My email is oldgmctruck@gmail.com if and when you have some free time would like to see more about those
