I did a quick resize on a few pics for this thread... I hope to get the ball rolling.
Remember, this is not for personal gain for mike, nor myself. Any and all proceeds will go to www.67-72chevytrucks.com the best board, and the best group of people on the web.

We didn't get the wagon out on the sand.

Couldn't afford a tow bill if we got stuck.

Re: Salt from the Bonneville Salt Flats, What to do with it? New & improved with phot

there was a few reasons we didn't take it on the salt...
it seemed a little stupid to fly to the other side of the country for a rust free car that has never been in salt... only to run it on the salt flats! Not to mention, there would have been no good way to clean it up after a run, and the high consintration of salt is REAL corrosive... nothing like the little bit of rock salt on the street that kills old cars and trucks up here in the mid west.
Also, the tow if getting stuck, it was a but messy on the salt
not to mention barts breakage.

It was tempting.... VERY tempting!

I voted auction, even though I think I would have a better chance with a a raffle, but if this gets posted on ebay, and the road trip story is posted there as well, with some press, maybe you would get more $$$ for the board that way. A raffle is a great idea and a board member would have a greater chance of winning, but I think you would get more money with a auction.

I am hoping that raffle is the deal. That way tickets can be $1 and you can buy whatever you wish.

I know i dont have money. I still have not added up all the receipts for gas.............................

I had to get linked here to find it, sorry, but I did vote!! I don't live too far from there, but have yet to go. I am a bit compulsive and sometimes obsessive, so I am afraid to go for fear i'll never leave or be one of those dudes that goes every year for ever!! I too just watched the world's fastest indian, and I get goose bumps when he pulls into the flats every time, you guys are my new heroes for the day, I am a tad green with envy!
