Paid the original owner $1,000 three years ago for my 70 C-10. It only had 112,000 miles on it when I got it. It has rust in the usual spots (never spent a night in a garage till I got it) but is very straight. It has a 250 with 3 speed manual trans with few options (3.07 rear, HD clutch, HD rear springs, upper & lower trim, cig lighter, full foam seat, full wheel covers). I have the original dealership paper work and warranty info. He paid $2,700 for it new in 1970.

Bought a 68 C-10 for 600 bucks 6cyl automatic. Got about 3 miles from the guys house and transmission went. Put a few bucks in it drove it for a couple years and then found my 70 at the back of my friends dealership. It was the truck they tied the dog to during the day. Paid 400 bucks for it cleaned the dog food and squirrels nest out of the carb and drove it home. I was going to swap engines with the 68 but when I got to looking, the 70 had alot less cancer. Got about $6500 in it now.

Paid $5,500 for mine. 1971 K10 shortbox 4X4. The most I over paid of any car/truck purchase I ever made. Engine block was cracked, transmission was shot, someone used bondo to cover all the rust holes. Still it was the truck I wanted with the options I wanted. I ended up overpaying for it with no regrets. Sometimes you have to pay more for exactly what you want. I wouldn't sell if for $20,000 now.

Traded a dead mazda B2200 for mine. Drove it home after a new set of tires and an oil change. Passed inspection first try.
Actually the Mazda went to my dad, and he gave 750 for the 71. He's giving the Mazda a 400+ HP vette motor, 3.73 posi, built up 700r4, and doing some frame stiffening. It should be a blast! He said I could drive it if I buy a set of rear tires first.

I paid $5K for mine two years ago. Had 103K miles on it now it has over 135K only needing a starter, altenator, front brake shoes, wheel cylinder, and water pump in that time. Not bad I guess, averaging 15K miles a year. Still running strong!

$650 Cdn from a buddy that was moving. Body's in fairly rough shape, with surface rust, but mechanically it's good. Came with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) system, with the option to run regular old gasoline. Has 350, 3 in the tree, masher tires (regular truck size, but the GRIP!!)

I paid $2550 for my '72. It had all original body panels (as far as i know). It was repainted sometime in the past, and they painted it the original Ochre color. It looks pretty damn good when it is washed & waxed, but it had alot of underlying problems. When i bought it, i noitced a few small holes above the windshield, but i didn't think anything of it. I had to get the windshield replaced to pass inspection (it had a crack) and i discovered that the windshiled lip was almost gone . Then the timing chain slipped on the engine, and that got replaced. When i bought it, it didn't smoke at all, but it got really bad after a few months. A rebuilt motor cured that, and now it runs better than a new truck . I think i paid about $500 too much for it, but i am glad i got it, and i couldn't bear to sell it .

I bought my 69 Chevy C10 LWB, from the original owner, about a year and a half ago. The old guy still lived at the same address as on the original title. The truck has 71K on it's 350 and aside from a little rust in the doors and the inner fender under the battery it's in great shape. He wanted $4500 for it, but when I got to he's house it wouldn't start. He got a little upset with the truck and said I could have it for $1800 if I had it out of his driveway that afternoon. Well, once I switched the batt wire to the correct side of the HEI I drove it home.

I paid $4000 for my truck. The body was perfect. No rust, or anything except for the small dent in the tailgate! The paint was decent as it had been repainted. It was '69 C10 lwb fleet with a 350 and T-400. The previous owner parked her under a pine tree for several years and occasionally he drove it. Now, thanks to him, the clear on my paint is falling off. Plus the rockers are now rusting bad.

I paid about $2900 in US $$$ a couple years ago. Thats $4800 Canadian. I have put in about $1000 into it just maintaining it, mostly mechanical stuff. From time to time I look in the paper and see 67-72's for sale for more then what I paid but they look kinda crappy. Did I get a deal on mine or did prices on these trucks jump recently or what? What do you think this truck is worth? Did I get a deal or was it a fair market value?

I paid total of $1500 for my '71 K10 LWB, home made snow blade setup, (removed and is for sale), and a '72 3/4 2wd LWB with a shot engine and partially parted out. Turned '72 into trailer and kept what parts were useable. Truck is currently in body shop after driving as a beater for 7-8 years. 4x4 setup is good but sheet metal needs real attention. My 16 year old son can't wait till it gets home. Thinks it's "his truck" When it is done plan on some before, during and after pics.

My dad bought the truck from a ford dealer in '89 for $1200, the six (still in there) was bad but we rebuilt it and been good since. Truck was rust free(still is) still had all the origional hardware. Except once my dad got his hands on it, it became his work horse. Now that its mine it has a few dings inside the bed/tailgate. Body is still straight and smooth.
