I tend to agree with you. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't like them on any of my trucks. I just wanted to let Reumster know my plans.

I think I've seen one truck I could honestly say I liked better with clears, and it's a grey one that pops up whenever someone asks for pics of the clear tails...
Gimme red anyday.

I really don't know how well the blue LEDs will shine through the red lenses. But we'll see. The color maybe purple when passing through the red.
Um err. My blazer looks good in the pictures but up close is a different story! LOL Thanks though. Work in process.

BTW, I'd be interested in you building up a pair of "production grade" inserts for me to replace my wire wrap perf-boards I'm using now. Approx. dimensions of the board are 2 x 11.75 with a required border (as in no LEDs there) of about 1/8". If you're interested, shoot me a PM with price, time to complete, etc. Kenneth

Thanks Bill.
Here's a picture of the actual 480 board. These are extreme.

Reumster if I have to go with a clear lense I will. I prefer red over clear, but will go with what ever color you say works the best. Thanks again...

Are you going to make led boards for the front parking lights of a 72 front bumper? I believe it is a 1157 dual element for the turn signal and parking light. Also, it would have to be white led's as the lens is amber.
thanks, James

sigurd
yes we're going to make 71/72 Front parking inserts. But they will be more spendy than the tail light inserts. Due to the fact they will take more LEDs, and amber LEDs are more expensive than red. sigurd white LEDs are to expensive, and are not used behind colored lenses. Unless you have money to burn. The Front inserts will use amber LEDs. They do have clear front lenses. So the amber LEDs will come in handy. In fact clear lenses are safer than colored lenses. Where experminting with a custom production version of the front inserts now. We're started prototypes now, on 67/68 and 71/72
