Re: lucy the 1950 shoptruck
very cool, wish i could tear mine down and start over with mine.
do you plan on driving this thing hard? or just a cruizer? frame looks like it wouldnt take much to twist it. also, if driving hard, how are you going to prevent axle twist with just the two bar? im not naggin, just some things i noticed when looking. look forward to seeing this thing progress! keep up the good work.

Re: lucy the 1950 shoptruck
the frame is 2x3 in the rear and the front is fully boxed up front, with crossmember at the union to the 2x3 and 2 others on the rear. still have to buil tranny crossmember. i highly dought it will ever flex. motor will be around 220hp to the wheels so not a powerhouse and will be used mainly for crusin but do plan on a little autocross with it. as far as rear suspention it is a two link exactly like 67 c10 with a large 3x4in u bolt with a panhard bar. should have it painted by the end of the week so will have it reassembled.

Re: lucy the 1950 shoptruck
happy day. got the frame painted today. silver linex and i can say i am very happy with the way it turned out. so the frame will be silver and the control arms and front components will be black lines while the trailing arms and panhard will be gloss black.

Re: lucy the 1950 shoptruck
Quick question, what type of paint did you use on the frame? It looks like there is some texture to it.

Re: lucy the 1950 shoptruck
well.......... nobody seems to want to buy her so i figured why the hell not get a little work done. little be'n the key word. i have been so busy with vixon try'n to get her ready for the shows next month and to top all that off my good budy Erid Saliba from THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS called me up and asked me to come help him a little for the next few months, all the while my new building is come'n together. so yea finally got the cab back on and here are the specs. the runing boards have the back cut off them so the cab can set down lower this in turn pushed the fenders down (by design)this alowd me to cut the bottom of the fender off (4in) so that the body line on the fender lined up with the runing board and looks really good, and set the front of the fender on the ground. now i will be re raidiusing the front fenders to give a little more turning room without haveing to jack it all the way up and will flow them back to give it more of a sweeping look, think 60-61 impala. so yea there she is
