My 2 year old grandson named all three of my trucks. The 71 C-10 is "Blue Truck" the 72 K-10 is "White Truck" and the 72 Burb is "Big Blue Truck Suburban"

Mine is called Black-N-Blue 72. It should be called rust-n-blue 72, but it just doesn't fit the ryhme. I will be polling for a new nickname after I paint it orange this summer.

Spot.
The reason? It was painted by Earl Scheib about a million years ago. I took it to the car wash to clean the ochre paint, and it got clean alright. All the way to the original white paint. Not to mention I would see a rough spot or bare metal, and to keep rust from forming I would sand it and primer just that one spot. At one point it had four different shades of grey primer, the original white paint, the remnants of the ochre paint, and chrome bumpers, sidepipes, and wheels. So if you count the colors and the chrome as a color, that's seven. A good friend just started calling it that, and it stuck. |

Yikes! My truck doesn't have a nick name.
I'm currently accepting any suggestions. I'm sure most of you have seen it, if not, I'll post a pic again. ------------------ 67 SWB 4x4 - 396 BB / SM420 4 spd 8" lift / 15x14 Welds & 35X14.5 SSR's Grants Pass, OR

Not a truck, but my Dad has a 1962 Chevy Impala 2 door hard top that he had delivered to him brand new on his 21st birthday back in the day. 327, three on the tree, NO ac, NO ps, NO pb, just 3 speed and posi in the rear ("all those nice things took away from the power" he said).
Dad claims he could take the 409's in stoplight racing. It's light blue and I have driven it a total of THREE times in my entire life! And it is fast! Had it painted back in 70's. All original, 80k miles. License plates say "Ol Blue" Fitting.

GOLIATH!!! My friends named Brutus and my brother said when I got the wrecker, "If that one is Brutus, then this one must be GOLIATH!" I don't have names for my other cars and trucks.

Mine is still called grandpas truck, even though he died a good 20 years
ago and it has been passed down to my dad, and then to me, its still grandpas truck. Tough. Rugged. And doesnt take any crap from those little cars on the highway that try to cut me off. Im sure he smiles down at it.

My inlaws called my old 68 long step thunder road because of the 2 chamber flowmasters. The new 68 hasn't accumulated a name yet. Gotta get it running first.
My old 82 Benz wagon got the name lumpy from my wife, the first time she saw it the light caught all 300 door dings just right ... That name stuck thru to the next owner.

My trucks named NEGATIVE 1 or -1 because every other day it gets a little closer to the ground, from static to bags before ever leaving the driveway. and its a mean.
I call my 68 rs/ss camaro The Highway Heretic. It isn't practicle or streetable but I like to think it is more pics to come |
