Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
Its Sunday and its time to put the body back on the frame. I am sick of working on the chassis LOL. Time for something different. I bought the mount kit from Energy Suspensions through Summit. The kit had the hardware and everything but it only had mounts for 5 positions and there were 6 positions? After a call to Energy Suspensions everything was solved and they were sending out one more set of mounts Thanks. Also they provided hex bolts and some of the mounts needed carrige bolts so you dont ruin your knees when climbing in the truck. No big deal.Home depot saved the day. Still a good deal on the kit.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
Well I knew it wouldnt be this easy, the gas tank hit the floor support on the body. I cut the support out with a grinder and now the pumpkin hits the wood floor. I put 1 1/2 inch blocks in the cnotch for now. I guess I will cut out a small section of the floor.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
Today I started putting the doors back on. Its not fun now that everything is painted. Next time I will get everything fit and have the door hinges bolted in place before they get jammed. I only got 1 scratch that I know of.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
That picture of the rear wheel is 1 1/2 inches from bottoming out. I think the height will be good. Never low enough but not bad. I started putting the brackets on the engine and all the acessories. I went to order the 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton drop spindles from ECE but they are out right now. Said I should have them in a month I have plenty to do but they were next on the list.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
Its been a little while but I have been working on it steady. I got all the serpentine brackets painted and installed. That worked out well. I have been watching Ebay for a Edelbrock 2104 intake but ended up getting one from Summit with a $20 coupon. I got that installed. I have been ordering stuff from CCP and it seems like they overcharge for shipping and they take their time sending stuff out. I got the C notch, rear end conversion kit, rear shock relocator kit with gas shocks kit and the rear panard bar from them and all the shipping was high and slow.
I changed out the rear brakes from the 89 Suburban rear end. Yes I wacked myself a few times trying to pull the springs with channel locks. I will change them out to disc in the future.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
I bought all the weatherstripping from GMC Pauls. I got everything I could think of and it was $700 worth. They gave me 15% off. Thanks. Now putting on the door weatherstripping was another story. It definately takes more than 2 hands. With my wifes help it went pretty good. I got a gasket kit for the heater box and a new heater box from wansco 356 thanks and got everything painted and installed. Its fun putting everything back together. I put all the bolts and parts in ziplock baggies and labeled them and I still cant remember where they go.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
I got the intake installed today and the distributer. I also got the rear shock relocator kit done too. I got the upper bag plates drilled and mounted to the bags. I cut off about 3/4 f an inch off of the lower bag cups and got them bolted up. I am waiting on the 3/4 to 1/2 ton drop spindles from ECE. They are behind on them and its holding me up from putting the nose on. I did order new inner fenders and a new cowl hood and they should be in this week. The paint shop called to see when the burb was coming? I figure 2 weeks. For those of you installing bags with the truck together many cudos! I had a heck of a time with the drilling and I had no nose on.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
I want a tilt column but I will use the old one for now. I sanded it down and painted it and repacked the bearings. I bought new upper and lower ball joints from Rock Auto. They were cheaper with shipping than my local parts places. I got all Moog stuff. It costs me $20 to press in the new lowers at my local machine shop. At this point I am going to put my original spindles back in so I can put the nose on and get the burb painted. I have been looking all over the web for pics of burbs and I havent found a paint scheme I like yet. I might end up doing ghost flames if I dont find something better. I like the idea of skulls but I am not sure.
The bag cups didnt fit in the LCA's too good so I ground out the lca's so they fit better.

Your son did a great job on the Video and I think he used every transition on the mixing board as well! I wish I had half the patience that takes.

Re: Project "Mid Life Crisis Low Rider Burb"
I believe your belt routing is incorrect. If that's a stock GM serpentine, which it looks like it is, the belt should go around the water pump between the crank pulley and the PS pulley, not between the alt and the PS pulley. Hope that helps!
