just wanted to show you guys what they mean by cutting down a 22.5 wheel to a 22 inch wheel. they machine the lip and over all diameter of the wheel.
photos will show: and yes this is safe, thousands of these wheels have been done this way. this is done to be able to install a light duty tire instead of a heavy ply tire. just thought you guys would enjoy this one. |

Sorry man, i have been so damn busy at work that i have not even touched the frame. i did get an ls motor and tranny for it with low miles. i installed a f body oil pan and painted the block semi gloss black. i also got the nitto tires installed on the wheels i have from wheel vintiques. i need to get my a$$ back in gear and go. i have been driving the day lights out of the dually project. i bought a brand new 2500hd three months ago and it does not even have 500 miles on it. i love driving the dually more than anything. go figure, i buy a 45,000 dollar truck and dont even drive it. lol i will get some shots for yall tommorrow and post them.

well i got some pics of the wheels with the tires mounted and the motor. i need to mount them and see if the wheels will fit under the bed. i am running a stock 72 rear with 17x9 wheels. the wheels have a backspace of 5.00" i believe. tires are a 275 50 17 ratio. i was told that they will fit with no problem, but we all know how that goes.

i just realized that i have not told yall that this truck is a long bed truck, at least i dont think i did. i just wanted to see a dropmember longbed out rolling.

got the wheels and tires mounted and all the suspension tight now. will hopefully install the ls motor for the first time tommorrow. ill post some pics for you pic hungry guys.

Got these from Speedway motors. These are nice if you are going to run a factory rubber hose on your projects. They are going to work nice with my dropmember. This way you can run a factory hose and locate it anywhere.

the front end is all dropmember with 73-87 factory a arms. the rear is all kp components brackets that i cut up and welded in. the air lines are 3/8 hydraulic hose, valves are gc extreme and the controller i wired and built myself.
the dropmember is a one off i had nathan build. i did not like the look of the round tubing in the 3.2 version so he built me one out of plate. it is a little heavier but i think it fits the look of the classic truck better. |

not yet, i have been busy at work and have been working late. i have been working on the brake lines and have most of the hard bends finished. bending brake lines sucks.....
i should have it in by the end of next week, keep an eye out...lol. |

started running brake lines and mounting the brackets for the soft lines. i purchased the rigid flaring tool and it works pretty good for the money. the tube bending pliers are worth every dime i paid for them. you can do a tight radius with them and stay close to the tube nut at the same time.

i purchased a brand new f body pan, pickup tube, and just modified the windage tray. It turns out even the dealerships here in houston are getting competitive. I had two dealerships fighting over price on the pan and pickup and got it pretty cheap in the end.

well finally got the sway bar the way i like it, porterbuilt was kind enough to supply me with some brackets. i had to cut them up a little to make them fit. the factory bushings and bolt setup was a joke from addco. i bought a energy suspension kit and used parts from both to get it the way i wanted it.

do you have any pics with the rear laid out to show how far the axle goes up into the notch? trying to get an idea how low your rear goes with your bags mounted there.

you know, i never have rolled it onto the concrete yet. i need to do that. lol. i know it will not lay frame in the back. with my old tire size it was about 2.5 inches from touching. the new tire is about an 1 inch lower. so it will sit a little closer. i like the rake look of the trucks when aired out. every bagged truck i see(including my dually) sags in the ass when aired out. this truck will not.

mine would be raked the other way lol. i kind of dont like the saggy rear look..but maybe if i move my bags to get lower then it will motivate me to save up for a z lol

Finally got the motor sitting between the frame rails. It fit like a glove. Dropped in the first time and the bolts literally slid in. Nice job nate!!! Now just need the fuel cell to run fuel lines. Thats next, i think!!
