Re: My truck is on the ground in one piece

Yes all original 64 S90 with the painted fenders (chrome came along in 65) it sat forgotten in the back of a Honda dealership from 79 thru early 90s unclaimed by the owner who had the tank and carb cleaned. a local cycle salvage guy stuck it in his basement til 07. He gave it to me for parts for my cousins 90cc three wheeler. When we picked it up we were amazed at the condition so when we got back to my garage we put gas in it and it started on the first kick!!! I spent 80 hrs cleaning it up and put a battery and new peg rubbers on it and applied for a lost title and plan on keeping it!

Yeah still a ways to go! I always leave the glass til near the end of a project. speaking of glass what does everyone think about Safelite? I had a windshield put in my 01 chevy truck and it was fast and easy, was still fine after 2 years and price was very good.

I called Safelite and I supplied the Presicion gasket from GMCpauls-I also had the 69 style trim and it took them two windshields to get it done-had a leak after about a month but they warranted no leaks for life so they came out and fixed the problem. I am satisfied with there work and would use them in the future.

i recall the days of jr high school... on a school bus on the way to school...a buddy had one of those.. he would lie down on the tank to be able to get up enuff speed to pass the bus........ it was a struggle... imagine the blast of wind when he first pulled out to pass.... wow...

Very Nice! I love it. The color is perfect and I really like that you kept the GMC front. Looks wicked painted I'm jealous.
