You cant please all of the people all of the time. That a*#hole obviously was never taught that if you have nothing nice to say, then dont say nothing at all.
BTW, your truck is very nice. DZL1. |

Re: Been going to car shows
I am sad to say- I agree with the Donkey... That truck leaves alot to be desired. I'll tell ya what, I will take that POS off your hands. It will cost you though, send me two hundred bucks for my trouble and I will come get it. You will never have to worry about being teased ever again...
You don't have to thank me... Just try'n to help a brother out.

Re: Been going to car shows
Needs nothing more than a wet sand and re clear coat, not a fan of the wheels at first look, but they grow on you and it's better than another swb with torque thrust II's, I like the classic look of them but being personalized is alot cooler to me

alittle more drop wouldn't hurt. The truck as is looks good. but.... I think a upgrade you should think about is...... go to wal-mart. get a childs t-ball bat. and paint it to match the truck. just make sure you show the guy the upgrade the next time he has something neg to say. we work on trucks and make them our own because it makes us feel good. forget him bro. |

Re: Been going to car shows
leaver her be.....and that from someone who hates dropped trucks. the big wheels and that stance looks sporty and low yet still everyday-able. that is exactly my idea what a resto-mod sport truck should look like. to tuck the tires would be to go too far. you just can't please everybody....but you sold me and that is a tough job!

Re: Been going to car shows
I have a 67 that I just finished last week & have went to 2 shows so far. I'm happy & that is what matters most! Besides, anyone with that color has to be a good guy, with or without the white hat! FYI, it has a 2" front & 4"back drop. By the way, my truck is painted a 2010 Mustang blue. Howard

Re: Been going to car shows
Yes- send cash and keys right away!
No really, you have a cool ride. Years ago I cared what people thought about my rides. Not so much anymore...If they dig it than cool, if they don't, than thats ok too. You don't need reassurance when you're rockin the shoes you bought and spit shined with your own hard earned cash. There will always be a Donkey- just let em eeeaaawww right on by...

Re: Been going to car shows
1GMC71- The problem is your young enough to be concerned with rude peoples comments. As you grow a bit older, you learn to ignore idiots and move along.
You do have a nice looking truck. It is not perfect, but you know that and have realistic plans to make it better. Your ego is on the line every time you put your pride and joy on display. I suggest you focus on your plans, and appreciate the kind words that are offered.

Re: Been going to car shows
If you like it, really what difference does it make what some one else might say. I have a 1967 Mustang Convertible (sorry chevy purists.) not much on the car is original including the color. Some folks say I messed it up by not going all original. I didn't re-build it for them I did it for me and my wife. We love it and it is a blast to drive. My son and I are rebuilding a 1970 GMC stepside. It has and will continue to have a Chevy hood, grill and tailgate. We will fix it the way we like, plain and simple. In other words "DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF"
