Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
had to bring this thread back to life. Hopefully more will post pictures of their "Sea Foam" green or paint code 518 trucks.
My truck is in primer, but will be going into the body shop in about a month to be returned to this paint code. Cant wait

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
They are nice colors. Just remember there are two shades, the 67-69 light green code 503 and the 70-72 medium greeen code 518. The lighter color is really the only one I would consider a "sea foam green" in the classic sense. If you are planning on doing a two-tone the factory secondary colors were 67-68 code 526 (Ditzler 8290)ivory/off-white, 69 code 521 white (Ditzler 8080)and 70-72 521 (Ditzler 2185) white.

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
My '72 GMC with a black top. Not 100% sure if it came from the factory or dealer this way... but it's the original medium green paint from 1972 as far as I know.

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
Great thread guys. I'm looking at redoing my 67 in the 503 /526 color combo. Can you guys break down the 67 light green color code as well as the interior door panels / dash pad etc...

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
The 67 MY factory paint GM code 503 or 533 (as a two-tone) consisted of:
503 Light Green (Ditzler 53523 or Lucite 4728-L) exterior primary body color. 526 Ivory (Ditzler 8290 or Lucite 4195-L) was the two-tone roof color. Please note the roof was painted only to but not including the drip rails in 67. This is unlike later years that extended down the front posts and door frames. There is an example picture below of the correct scheme though not the same color. If you want to look about for matching codes from different paint mfg. this is a good place to start. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...del=ChevyTruck The interior colors for a 503/533 truck consisted of: Argent Silver (Ditzler 8568) glove box door with a textured black insert. Medium Green Poly (Ditzler 43687) This metallic light green is used for the interior sheetmetal (weatherstrip breaks in), doors, door panels, steering column and wheel. The interior seat vinyl is a similar color. Dark Green Poly (Ditzler 43693) upper dash, this is a darker green, flattened paint applied to the dash forward of the dash pad. Basically from the dash slots to the windshield, up to but not including the posts on either side. The dash pad is a similar dark green/turquoise color. For additional information and to buy paint try here. http://tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrar...FQQJRQodaDA8IA

Thank you sir!!
Thanks Tim. That's great info. Seems the light green stuff is some of the harder parts to come by. Quote:

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
For SS Tim... Here is a pic of the SPID. Looks like it came from the factory with code 548 "White/Medium Green" paint. I know there were some dealer options for black tops, but not sure where this would even be documented. If the PO did it... they didn't do a bad job. The glove box door is also painted black, and there appears to be overspray on the SPID as well. But not sure if it had a black door from factory.

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
Thanks Gary,
In your case here the black roof was done post factory as you noted. The black roofs, dealer installed, that I know of were the faux vinyl top look. The glove box door would have been factory black in keeping with GMC's custom of painting the cluster and glove box to complement the interior.

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
Here is a ad with a textured roof. Look hard and you can see the fake seam tapes. They are about where the windshield header weld joints are.

Re: sea foam green paint jobs!
Wow... that's a different look altogether. I like my painted black top better than the faux vinyl look.
