Yep, can you tell if its a 351 or 305 V6 based on the pics?

How long have you been waiting to get your truck out of cali?

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

I think that all 4x4's were 305's in 67, but not sure.

I have been waiting a long time. I bought the truck back in November, and it is still not picked up. I have not been in a hurry, the weather has been so bad, and I have been trying to find a good price. All of the shippers are very expensive though.

Congrats....can't wait to see pics when your truck makes it home.

Awesome! thank you. It says these are big blocks and that makes sense, looking at the physical size and weight of the engine! I'm kinda looking forward to having something a little different to show when the hood is popped. It seems I should probably figure out some sort of rev limiter though I've heard bad things happen if you wind these up.

Also, I my original 67 GMC light truck brochure showed up yesterday. Looks like no V8's were available in any 67 gmcs! Only straight and V6's in 2x4's and the 4x4's could only be had with the 305 V6!! This must be a 305 if original. The torque and power numbers exceed both the straight six's by a fair amount so they figured a v8 wasn't necessary.

Jeremy, I'm not in the market for anything else right now but I'd like to stop by sometime and check out your projects. I looked at your album and it looks like you've got a pretty good handle on 4x4's!! That truck of your dads was hard loaded!!

Yea another late night surfin after work...

Your welcome! I found the link then remembered this thread so i re-looked it up and posted. My first vehicle ever was a 3 on the tree 1960 GMC with a 305, plenty of power and mass torque, personally i love the engine and would love to have another 60's vintage truck with that engine.

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

was just picked up and is heading for terminal as i write this Sounds like is going on a 10 car hauler big boy. Not sure how they move it around on it though since it doesnt run.

It just dawned on me today that the antifreeze should have been checked. Don't know why i didn't think of it before but it may encounter some below zero weather along the way. I hope it will be ok, the seller just said it has antifreeze in it.

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

Now is not the time to be thinking of that!

Little story, when i was in diesel mechanics school there were a couple of guys (young hotshots) about 1 1/2 years ahead of me that were in their last year at school, then got jobs , they were working for an equipment dealer and had to send some equipment to Alaska, were talking stuff like cat's and dozers ect.. not shure what it was but they neglected to check the antifreeze in a couple big ticket items, and needless to say when they got to Alaska they had cracked blocks. Also needless to say both got fired on the spot...

I assume so, the truck has the 305 V6 but you never know.

I'm now playing the waiting game until the truck arrives. Plowed the driveway wider last night to make room for the semi its supposedly on

Here was another i saw but I'm not sure what options it has. In better shape than mine though. http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/2120246473.html Might be a good deal depending on what you're looking for.

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

Picked up the title at the post office this AM! hopefully everything transfers well and I don't have to fill out a bunch of additional paperwork!

Truck was spotted by reliable source in cornhusker country this AM. The snow here today might make it interesting. SHould be late tonight or tomorrow morning!!

Re: Finally!!... found a 4x4!!!

This finally showed up today.... 3/4 tires were flat so it gave the old '68 Deere a workout pulling up the drive through the snow. Man I'm glad I have a full size tractor. Got other stuff i should do this evening but I think I'll go look for the build sheet. I can't wait to see whether or not it is there!!
