Re: 70c10
gear drive makes such good sense to me but all I've seen are so loud, have they improved on the noise?

Re: 70c10
Thanks bud! The guy at the machine shop did great, by looking at it you'd think its new. The motor is a 70 model out of a Camaro and Heads are out of a 68 corvette

Re: 70c10
I had gear drive in a camaro a long time ago. When I bought it everyone I know that ever had one told me I would hate it. They said it's neat when somebody drives by but when you listen to it everywhere you go you will hate it. I put it in anyway and I hated it. I know I didn't listen to anyone, but it would be much easier to change now than later. And guaranteed every time you go to the gas station some old man will come up and tell you that you need power steering fluid.

Re: 70c10
Congrats on the truck.. Looks great.
Gas in the oil, most likely indicates the diaphram in the fuel pump is leaking. Pretty common thing actually. So the oil smells like gas?

Re: 70c10
It was the heads. The valve seals were dried up from sitting for around 16 years lol. Its all taken care of now, everything is new from the motor mounts up. We're probably going to finish up and fire up today or tomorrow. Depending on how easy things fall in line for us

Re: 70c10
The gear drive was such a good call. I like it, with how loud the truck already is it doesn't really stand out. Only a brake line left and we'll be ready for the road! The motor started up the first time we spun it over lol It didnt hickup and it hasnt yet. It'll be a pretty good motor from the looks of it!
