Working on these trucks definitely isn't good on the backs. Looks like you have the most comfortable position possible though.

Re: New to this
no, no bleeding needed on those. i was just wondering if it could be bad and the cause of your pressure loss. with the power brakes the pedal will be firmer when its not running. so when engine is running the power assist requires less pedal pressure to get line pressure. i would just keep keep bleeding them. im sure there is air trapped some where.

Re: New to this
Tom, I had the same problem when I had that set up. The M/C and booster are new, but the same part number that was pulled out of the original blazer. I'm not sure if you have to get a smaller booster say go to an 8" as opposed to an 11".. I wouldn't think that your motor or my motor would suck that much vaccum out of the motor.
I was also told to try a vaccum canister on the line.. I have a new proportioning valve at the house if you want to try that also. |

Re: New to this
Figured it out today after bleeding, bleeding and more bleeding. I was sure I had no air in the line. Made a vacuum canister and hooked it up. Had plenty of vacuum it crushed the hose in. So then I tried something that I thought might work. I fabricated a threaded rod that gave me much adjustment from the booster to the pedel shaft. I cranked it until the pedel came up to where I wanted it. If i went to far it would lock up the brakes. so i backed it off until I found the sweet spot. If anybody can see if this may cause any problems down the road. Let me know. The brakes work perfect right now. Thanks.
I took off the canister also. |
