Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck

well i guess it would be a brand new 72 loaded with all the options ,with a long bed....and get to drive it off the show room floor.....that would be my dream truck.....blue and white....or any two tone paint.....

and a four door would be a big plus....

It will be the factory blue, buckets and use many of the factory pieces. Anyone who didn't know would just think I took a restored truck and lowered it with big wheels. I want it to be powered by a big block that looks restored (L71 tri-power is the inspiration) but cleaned up, backed by a L480e. I found a pic of a truck that is pretty close to it. Not sure whos it is though.
I have a very similar truck in mind...maybe I will do a 67 short fleet after my 68 is finished.

I would like to say as they came from the factory but that is not everyone's thing so if you have some crazy mods or builds you like then have at it. I like factory (or close to) trucks.

Mine would be this.

1968
SWB
Fleetside
1/2 ton
SM465 transmission
327 engine
3.73 rear

Maybe some other stuff like HD suspension and cooling.
I have that truck you listed

Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck

68 short wide w/ 67-68 exterior trim, 4/6 drop, 427/4l80e/9", solid metallic blue exterior paint, black&gray interior w/ buddy's/tilt/tach, stock chrome bumpers, shaved firewall, semi-gloss black engine compartment so the shiny stuff pops, undecided on wheels but goin for a pro street look w/ 18"x14" rears. Still in slooooooooow parts acquisition mode, hope to have a build thread one day...

Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck

Would be a 70 C/30 light blue with a white cab, billet wheels Cummins with a 6sp with a bed on it and no dually fenders, and a 40 gallon tank in the back.
Would look real good next to my 69 and the 30 would be my DD.
