low69chevy swb build lsx turbo build qa1coilovers raceline wheels etc.etc
Well finally decided to make a tread on my truck its a 69 chevy c10 step side my brother bought it and lost intrest so I bought it off of him,and started working on it plans are to make it a fleetside bed and if I can find someone intrested in swapping a 67-68 chevy front to swap it if not I'll keep my 69 front and just get a cowl hood for it. As far as the engine goes as of right now I got the 5.3 off my 06 silverado with ported heads n custom grind cam and they should be bringing me a 4l60e by the weekend and as of right now I'm looking to see how much a turbo would run me but thats a might. As far as the wheels want to run some 20x12/20x8.5 racelines with 345/25/20 tires on a 5/7 static drop. Already shaved the firewall and primed it and moving piece by piece heres some pics.
heres a pic of it with the 22' intros off my 06 its real dirty from sitting under the shed for such a long time heres wat I started with on my firewall heres a shot of the bed wanting to trade it for a fleetside or sell it and heres a pic of my uncles 70 cheyenne which he built from ground up helped him out truck came out nice IMO it just needs some 20'billet wheels Last edited by low69chevy; 06-25-2015 at 11:16 PM. |

Re: low69chevy swb build ls swap
Made some progress, finally got the 4l60 for my 5.3 bolted them up and test fit the engine everything fit perfect so I'll be pulling it out for paint.Heres some quick pics. comments welcome
I was wondering wat ground clearance you'll have on your trucks cause on mine I got exactly a 12oz. can size but its still missing the complete front end so I'm guessing it gonna drop about another 2 inches. They had this one at my friends shop yesterday sure hope mine looks as good as this one did. |

Re: low69chevy swb build ls swap
well, I am away at college again, so in theory my father says hes gonna drop the engine in, friday ended a two month battle with cpp for the bolt in motor mounts that they promised would ship about 12 times...... suffice it to say, i will not be ordering from them again, soon I will have a three piece cover for it coming in, I found some nice adjustable angle plug wire that run nice and tight along the side of the block, and the harness wires will run out the back so everything should be nice and clean

Re: low69chevy swb build ls swap
Hadn't posted in a while got my raceline 20x12 wheels and 345/25/20 tires a couple of months ago also my wilwood rear brakes and cpp tublar control arms. Next I'll try and order the dropmember and coilovers for all four corners and narrow the rear end.
Here in this pic you can see where the rims stick out and rear end will have to be narrowed. Heres a pic of the rear wilwood brakes I dont have pics of the control arms right now but once I go home I'll snap some quick pics. I'm trying to get all the frame ready and move my way up from there, I'm also thinking what I want to do engine wise a stroker with some nitrous or a 370 with a turbo. Re: low69chevy swb build ls swap
Hey there every one hadn't updated in a while I'm always looking thru here at others builds since I never got time to work on mine still on the same boat just ordering parts got all the qa1 double adjustable coilovers for all 4 corners and cowl hood, radiator support,67 c10 front clip all new weather strip handles minors etc lsx turbo headers and much more these are the only piks i have on my phone right now and working 20 hrs from the house so it might be a while before updates planning on going turbo ls with the stance like the red one in the pik below got a good deal from a buddy on paint so picked up 2 gallons of torch red off the vette. Working on several projects at once and work is hard the hd and the ss clone took most of my free time when i went home.was going to send my original 12 bolt to get narrowed and posi etc installed and it almost adds up to if I just buy a fabricated moser housing all complete and ready to go any one using these have any feedback

Re: low69chevy swb build ls swap
I know it's been a while since i updated tread was thinking of selling the truck and getting a sports car like a z06 or something but decide to continue ordering parts for the c10 hopefully this year if i get time I'll try to finish it here's some of the parts that I've bought recently just missing the holley harness and computer and little odds and ends already sent my heads off to get cnc'd whenever I get them back I'll post piks still missing more piks of other stuff but it's all in boxes and didn't want to take everything out when I went home like the rear wilwood brakes/qa1 double adjustable coilovers for all 4 corners/tubular control arms/tial bov and wastegate etc.
These aren't my headers but they're just like them Last edited by low69chevy; 10-12-2016 at 10:07 AM. |
