4.5/5 Drop w 2.5 spindles and 2" springs in front....5" spring drop in rear.
Wheels are 20 x 8.5 and 20 x 10 Boss' (don't know the BS...they were the only ones they made at the time). 1.5" spacer in the back and 1" spacer in the front. Tires are 245/40 in front and 275/45's in the rear. I would have liked more back spacing and a little more tire on the rear. But I'm running with these now.

Re: 4.5/6 Drop, Tire size rollin on 20's
you running a fleet side so you can do the 295/40 and 255/40. With my stepper I had to stop at 275/40 for rear. Its the widest the rear wells would take and still drop over the tire.

your rear axle width will play a role on Backspacing as well....there were two different widths

Re: 4.5/6 Drop, Tire size rollin on 20's
I have a 68 1/2 ton gmc with a stock 6 lug rear end. I'm looking to get centerline smoothie wheels. The only 20" wheels they carry are a 20x8.5 with a 5.4 rear back spacing. What do you guys think? Will these work for the front and rear? I would like wider in the rear but rather stay with a 20" and not a 22"

Re: 4.5/6 Drop, Tire size rollin on 20's
It all depends on personal preference, but I recommend the Nitto 420s, which have a 245/45/20 and 285/40/20. They come in at about 28.6 front and 28.9 in the rear.
The 295/40/20 you mentioned will work as well, as the height is basically the same. Each tire model will have different sizes. |

Re: 4.5/6 Drop, Tire size rollin on 20's
I'm running a 4.5/7 with 255/40/20 and 295/40/20. I wish I would have went a lil shorter all the way around, but these will work for now.

Re: 4.5/6 Drop, Tire size rollin on 20's
I am considering a set of used 20" MB Bruzer wheels with Goodyear Eagle GT II tires. P275/45/R20 tires. I prefer some torq thrusts coys or similar but i can fet these cheap! I am waiting to hear back on rim width an backspacing. Any input?

Re: 4.5/6 Drop, Tire size rollin on 20's
Great looking truck RaceAGMC.
WIDESIDE72, a 20x8.5 w/ 5.25" BS, and a 20x10 w/ 5.5" BS would work well, but all depends on width of the wheel. Of course, anything close in this that area of backspace should work fine for you on a 3/4 drop. |
