It's weird, but when I go to the various junk yards, there are TONS of Ford trucks from about our era

Re: How many of these trucks.....

Interesting question. I see maybe five (six if you count me) on a regular basis around North County Coastal plus occasional cruising transients.

Reading all these posts tells me there are still lots of these trucks still alive out there !

Re: How many of these trucks.....

Since I got mine in March, I have only seen four in the New Orleans area, much less in my neighborhood.

Re: How many of these trucks.....

Not counting the neighborhoods around me but just the square block I would say there is a 71-72chevyswb,1971-72 c20 camper delux, 69-70 c20,1965-66 c20,there is a 53-54 pontiac,54 chevy 4 door, 55-56 belair 4door,1948 fleetline,1949-51 ford shoebox. So you can imagine how many more oldies around where I live.

Re: How many of these trucks.....

I had kinda forgotten about this thread.....good to see folks keep'n an eye out for our rigs.

Oh, I forgot to include GMC's for the the same era...

I guess I'm not surprised that the chevy/gmc's so outnumber the F&#$'s from this period. I drove mine the other day for the first time in a couple weeks. Picked up half a yard or so of decomposed granite to back-fill my sewer line where I installed some cleanouts...(great holiday fun!!!!)... Anyway, mine being a survivor, I am always amazed at how well my truck runs/works vs. how little I have actually done to it over the years.....Just another testament to how well these trucks were made. And all these sightings tells me that my experience is not unique.

Re: How many of these trucks.....

I bought my '69 from my neighbor. I live in a small rural town just outside of the Denver footprint and there are two nicely restored swb a few miles away from me. Another guy has a primered lwb that looks like it's bagged in his garage, I just happened to see it driving by when his door was open one day.

I'll be adding my second here very shortly. There are quite a few of these around in the north metro area of Denver.
