You know, I bet if you got some west coast mirrors you could clamp on a cup holder somewhere for that beer. You'd be a safer driver all around!!!

Re: who is running without side mirrors?

Haha, I love the direction this thread has taken.

Driving my wife's ride, or my silverado, I always use the side mirrors...however, I find in my regular cab C10, they are not necessary. As others have mentioned, you are surrounded by glass, and my rearview on the windshield provides a VERY good feel for who is behind me and beside me. A quick sideways glance fills in the blanks that the rearview mirror leaves.

Been driving the blue truck that way for 16 years, and never an issue. Maybe it's because I'm keenly aware of my surroundings while I'm driving my baby?

Re: who is running without side mirrors?

I guess if your truck is setting on the ground side mirrors might not be needed but if I could run over a small car and never see it without mirrors.

Re: who is running without side mirrors?

Part of the reason for me is that I have the np465, so 60 is about as fast as I go. I just stick to one lane and let everyone who is in a rush go around. If I ever need a mirror it would be the driver side to check the left lane in case I do need to pass someone slower than me. In that case I don't really use the passenger side mirror because I don't get back over to the right until I see the car I just passed in my rear view. Like you guys said before, I honestly think it helps you keep better track of the road and the traffic around you.

Re: who is running without side mirrors?

For the record, I was just being sarcastic about drinking while driving .. my comment meaning even though these guys don't have side view mirrors, they can probably drive 95% better without them than most people can with them. Mobile phones, texting, and just in general people can't drive. Just add alcohol, and it's out of control fellas.

What I'm saying is IMO there are more things to be concerned with than missing side mirrors. Just my .02

I personally don't like the big giant mirrors, but I don't like the peeps either. Just a medium sized normal mirror, chrome or painted .. but at least the driver's side for safety reasons.

Re: who is running without side mirrors?

^^ Yeah. to each their own, but that Blue LWB looks really good without them.. I guess it just depends on the truck?

I used to be into Jeeps a lot, and I know they require you to have at least a driver's side mirror on a Jeep (ask me how I know) even when you take the doors off. I had no idea.. But it's a state law in TN. I wouldn't think it would be different in a truck.

Re: who is running without side mirrors?

In the great state of Texas, side mirrors are not necessary as long as you have a rear view mirror. It is also legal to carry an unlicensed/unregistered loaded firearm in your vehicle. Not sure if the two laws are related

I've been without side mirrors since getting her road worthy. Never had a problem. I just turn and look.

Thanks for the installed pictures. These are the mirrors I suggested back in post #23. They just look right on so many Chevys even if they are not "correct".

Exact same mirrors on my '69 and I like them. Don't think I would want to drive without side mirrors. And I agree that the round ones go well with the head lights.

Talking Re: who is running without side mirrors?

Well I agree you need mirror's no matter what your truck looks like are what your theme is on it.

I have been using these for over 20 years now and I doubt you ever see another truck like this. I did this back years ago before one piece windows where ever thought about. Check out the vent window's! There are none.
I put a set of "Street Scene" mirrors on it and they work very well.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
