As a physical therapist assistant, don't overdo the stress placed on the newly made ligament of your ACL! Did the graft come from one of your hamstrings?

However, looking good on the project!Don't you hate welding on old rusty metal!

I looked at that steering system, looks great except for the welding of the pitman arm. That would always worry me!

Yeah I basically leaned against the bumper and stuck my leg out straight...Im actually laying here icing it the knee now! I try not to do too much and always have my brace on. the graft was from hamstring...A quadruple hamstring ACL reconstruction

The thing about the steering system was he did it from a manual setup and wasn't sure about it with a power assist steering....

My car actually handles well without power and it doesn't have the slop that thread described. My c10 on the other hand WILL get power, it sucks in parking lots.

Ive only drove the stang once so im not sure...I did notice the front shock wasnt centered on the busing in the engine bay so that could be an issue too! lol

That's generally where it gets us, we slip, do the wrong move, something usually dumb! lol

I installed the Flaming river rack n pinion (power) and a FR steering column. I wouldn't suggest this system. It was 2000 or so. Looks ok, and it works, seems the turning radius isn't all too great. The u-joint in the tilt column got a little slop in it and it irritates me to no end, it's only like less than a 1/4". If I had it to do over, I like this system below and it fits where the stock unit goes. Just do your homework and get in no rush. You'll have plenty of time, and plenty to do for a while! Don't buy anything until you talk to us! lol ; )

Ok finished the trunk...Used the whole quart lol! Might of over did it but the trunk is open and since it wont be raining im going to leave it open all night to dry

Thanks Rus! Not sure about it though since its to upgrade manual steering to power...But im sure it could be used to modify the stock power

Yeah buddy! Just think those fumes are building up but the good thing is, is though it's closed at least the heat of the truck is helping it dry probably, and when your able to open the truck it'll just help make it not stink haha

The POR-15 was dried this morning and after my physical therapy I scuffed and cleaned it then coated it with 3 coats of Dupli Color Bed Armour...Ill post pics later when its a bit dry

Still not completely dry but the matte finish of Bed Liner is much nicer and with a quart of POR-15 and 3 Coats of Bed Armour im pretty sure the trunk will hold up lol

Boy, that brings back memories! I finished my 67. The pictures are as it sits today. I have had the car for over 37 years and completed a ground up on her in 96. The only waver from stock was a new R134A A/C system and I'm currently changing the crappy OEM power steering to a GM type.

Great looking Mustang man!!! What steering system are you looking at? Ill probably try to do one listed above thats a cheap fix that takes a lot of work but is suppose to work great! I talked to the guy who did it and he said he has had no problems out of it at all

I'm installing a Borgeson unit with a Saginaw pump and an Ididit column.
Mine is an early 67 with the harpoon steering shaft so I took the engine out for easier R&R. The early type requires that you cut the column and I didn't want to do that so I went with the Ididit unit. I also considered A R&P setup but the only one on the market that is actually designed specifically for the Mustang is made by Total Control products(TCP). It's VERY expensive. The other R&P providers modify existing manufacturers racks to retro fit and they all have bump steer problems and loss of turning radius.

and yes, if I had known that loss of turn radius was going to happen with my Flaming river power rack, I wouldn't have chosen that direction, however I've never encountered bump steer~ thank goodness!

Thanks for the compliment. I might have spoken too soon as I have never tried a R&P setup on the car. I can only comment on what I've read during my research on the subject.

Thank you! below is the build portion on my 67 regarding the Flaming river rack. It show n tells what I had to do, put up with and fix. Today I'm pleased with it, except for the occasion of getting in a tight spot and having to back up and forward a few times to maneuver the car~ ; ) Originally, I was going to go with manual steering, then I got bit by upgradeitis! lol

I just checked out your blog and I really like what you did to the Suzuki.
I too appreciate working on clean stuff. Although I'm not really into resto-mod, I really appreciate it when it's done properly. I have always been one for stock.
