Re: 1974 CCSB build
Not much new to report, but I did get the truck to the house. I am up in the air if I should get it running with the small block, or just go ahead and do the LS swap. I am kind of leaning towards pulling out the engine that is in there, since the trans leaks anyhow. I have most everything I need to do the swap already, except the time.
I did put in my newly refurbished column between showers on Sunday. Every bit of forward movement is progress, right?

Re: 1974 CCSB build
I dont think you will be happy unless you do the swap at this point.

Re: 1974 CCSB build
KISS.....
Remember when you got the 74? Almost 200k on the clock & it still puffed right along (albeit while making a nightly mess). You swapped in a fresh power-plant w/TBI & things were never the same. I'm pretty sure I heard more than once "I should of just left it alone". If you're on the fence, just get it going w/the sbc & do the LS swap after you've logged some miles & are ready for an update.

Re: 1974 CCSB build
Thanks, Jason! No progress on the truck, but I did make a post to try to clean out a bunch of extra stuff in the garage. Maybe that qualifies. Big birthday party coming up next weekend, so that probably means more of the same lack of forward motion. I do like walking out back and looking at it, though.

Re: 1974 CCSB build
I would be too, I keep checking back on this thread. It's such a cool truck! If you're still on the fence my vote is stick with the small block and do the LS swap later. That will get you on the road sooner anyway
