Sorry, but I really didn't intend to hammer. You just made no mention of re welding the z in your new posts, what was I supposed to know, LOL. I mean, you yourself obviously thought that it wasn't acceptable if you decided to redo it. Like I said, I don't do lowriders, so I had no idea that cutting half the height out of the frame and welding a tube back in was common, I guess it works. At any rate, I was only trying to help you. If you want me to say "all hail the mighty fab God", don't put up pictures of a filthy weld I could break off with my foot and carry on without mentioning it, ya dummy; what kind of logic is that? Sounds like some crap I'd do, haha.

All I know is that I need a big 4x4, bigger the better but sure do like a lowrider and a huge lowrider is just different in a cool way, keep at it.

Lol sorry submarine I sounded a little sensitive ha. Thank you for being able to joke about it and yea that was a pretty crappy weld. But yea I plan to grind and get my buddy's mig welder for the rest of this build not something I want to shortcut on I'm too deep in it now lol. Thanks for the help though please keep up with this build and let me know anything u see needs attention. I'm not a great fabricator but I'm not scared to learn!

Don't worry about it man, it's the internet haha. Just make sure to clean it real well this time, I'd take an angle grinder and go down to bare metal at least an inch from the bead area - one of those flap wheels/disks works real well for this, btw. Besides that, make sure you get it hot enough and keep the heat in both sides of the joint so you get good penetration. If it was me, I'd probably also weld some reinforcing plates in at the corners of the cut in the frame for cab lowering, to help keep it from cracking there. Wow! You really DID get after it! Digging all the progress made.
One of the many things I like about this forum is that people aren't afraid to speak up to help someone out. And most of the time, it's well worded. But as Submarine said, "It's the internet", people can't see your facial expressions when you typed.
I'm a sorta beginner welder too, so when I get to that point, I'm going to expect A LOT of "pointers!"

K soon posting pics got the frame boxed in with might welder and test fitted cab almost ready to re assemble. Also got perches cut off the rear end and wool tackle that monday

with those big wheels make sure you be able to turn they sitting deep in there or bag the front so you can lift it, if plan using has dump bed look at heavy duty bags from class tractor, the ones on Kenworth run about 110 from the dealer,
