Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap

Well, let me tell you, I'm approximately at 425HP based on mods and my butt dyno. It is amazing what these LSx motors are capable of. I think I will try to get it dyno'd in the next week or so, and go from there.

The fun factor is at a 10/10. Fuel economy has doubled (10/10). HP/TQ - same (10/10). Spending the same money to do this with a crate 383 or even 572 - like I told Xeen yesterday....you come out ahead with the LSx swap, bang for buck!

After owning several ls based vehicle's I don't think I ever want anything else. If maintained and setup properly they will last a while and make good power all while getting decent mpg's.

I hope mine turns out to be a 10/10

I agree. Phenomenal. I'm now keeping my eyes peeled for the next LSx swap candidate.

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap

Tbanks guys. I wish it was going faster but this month is the wifes birthday and our anniversary so mod money is non existent

Thoughts on painting the "CHEVROLET" in the tail gate a contrasting color? Most likely black since that will be the theme on the interior. Here's a pic for reference

I really like the truck as it is but it's your truck so you should style it to your own tastes.

Me either. I'm hoping to order some of the fuel system components in the next few days. Nothing big until after August though

I like it as is for the most part. I'm just looking to make a few minor changes to make it my own. It will stay subtle, simple and clean though

That's what I was thinking also. I have a friend that's going to photoshop it for me when he has some spare time. Either way it won't happen for a few months

I think painting the lettering black would add a nice touch to the tailgate.

I'll probably do it when I have the gas cap shaved. That will be a few months at least. Still waiting on a friend to photoshop it for me

Thanks. It's hit a small stall with everything else going on this month. I should get the truck back this weekend from my painter and I'll be able to put most of the interior back together

Me either. I'm hoping to pick it up on my way home from work on Friday. I'll have to move the ls2 out of the way so I can get the truck in the garage first though. The delivery company wanted to leave it in the driveway so I guess I'm lucky it's sitting right inside the garage door

I know you probably didn't think about it but it would have been a good opertunity to have him weld up the center speaker hole on the top of the dash while he was at it.

Honestly no I didn't. I still don't even know what I want to do for audio yet. Either way the truck will go back in for other work later

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap

Truck was looking good a couple days ago. He was working his ass off on it. I guess it's painted by now. Isn't the ls2s 400 hr from the factory. I think that's what my tbss is. Good luck with swap.

He been pretty busy with it the last few days. He had a issue with the paint yesterday so he has to sand it back down and spray it again. I guess the paint was trying to dry faster than he could get it sprayed and he wasn't happy with the outcome. I don't mind waiting longer if it's done right. Gotta give him credit for being straight up with me and telling me about issues I probably would've never known about. Class act on his part.

The ls2 is either rated at 395 or 400. I can't remember. This motor came out of a tbss so I'm familiar with it which will help during the swap.
