Re: Project Phantom - 72 GMC body on NBS chassis.
Very cool. Just the kind of stuff I like. The stock nazis will hate it!

Re: Project Phantom - 72 GMC body on NBS chassis.
Not much has happened lately, been shuffling around getting the buick and quads ready for winter. I do have a bigger welder now. Going to start building a Jig so I can make this frame level and start setting things where they need to be.
One thing I've noticed is that it is a ton more work then I anticipated to get this frame laying on the ground. With that said I'm going to abandon that idea and just build it to sit as low as it wants to go. When it's aired out the bumper will be only a couple inches from the ground, which is fine with me. I'm much more concerned about getting the suspension all sorted out so I can start buying stuff for my 6.0. Hopefully find a T56 somewhere also. This is something close to where it will sit with it aired out... as you can see with a 31" tire it's going to tuck a lot! It'll be a bit lower yet, still waiting for my lower control arms to show up. |

Re: Project Phantom - 72 GMC body on NBS chassis.
So I got big bear in a decent enough state that it could leave the tent, which now leaves me with lots of wiggle room!
Time to take her apart again! So now I need to build a jig so I can make sure my frame is straight when I start cutting stuff. It's starting to get interesting....... |
