Re: Lolita
Amazing to me how fast these old trucks come apart but takes soooo long to put back together
That cab looks pretty darn solid from here. It's always better to start with original paint too, at least you know there's not a bunch of shoddy bondo everywhere. |

Re: Lolita
Yeah mike. This cabs had one repaint. But I don't see a lot of filler spots. The cab up over the rear window has a few dents tho. It will take me a while to get this one back together.

Re: Lolita
I went today and picked up a donor frame from Todd. I'm still unsure if I'll use it on this truck or go with all after market frame stuff.

Re: Lolita
Great.
I got all the old fuel and brake lines off of the frame. The shocks off too. Surprising how much is on a frame when your taking it off. I have one bolt on the frame pan hard bar mount that's being stubborn. I may have to heat it up. It looks to have an original set of rotors on it. I believe this is a 71 frame as it doesn't have the rear brake line going to the center if the rear crossmember above the rear. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Lolita
That would be correct because the 1972 is the only year that had the brake line routed through the rear intermediate crossmember.

Me too and Yes. She even drove with the trailer in tow. I told her that she needed to get a feel for it in case I need her to come pick me up some day. I will have Tex ready to roll for her when I'm away on the road. We had a good time. Even listened to some country. Which didn't last long I might add.
