I really dig your truck. You nailed the stance and wheel & tire combo.

Re: My 73 pickup...parts hauler/work truck

Well, I was offered the opportunity to buy back a project that I sold a few years ago and really missed... so, I have my truck on ebay now!

Super nice truck, and I love how you've racked the miles up on it. I need to get mine in shape, it's mostly good for local trips and thats it.

Re: My 73 pickup...parts hauler/work truck

Interested in the wheels and tires. I love my steelies and caps, but these look really good too. I would need them shipped to Orlando(32808) if your willing. I would also do just the wheels if you wanted to go that route.

I'm enjoying it also. I would love to park that out front my place, in the driveway of course. Great job on it. Looking forward to future builds from you.

Same is true for the popular GM Vortec heads. Instead of being centered between head bolts, the spark plug holes are moved slightly closer to their respective ports (outwards on the end two, and inward on the middle two). But virtually no header companies seem to understand this. Or if they do, they don't mention it in their header descriptions. This is definitely an issue with block hugger headers with tubes that turn down quickly.

Also, on some GM Vortecs (like my GMPP 062 castings), the exhaust port openings are higher relative to the header bolt holes. So using headers with primary tubes that aren't mounted tall enough on the flange could block the top 1/8" of the exhaust ports, which is where velocity is highest.

Here are mine 062s. You can see how a standard gasket (and some headers tube ports) would cover the top of the exhaust port opening. (Same is true for most cast iron manifolds.) By looking at the two center ports, you can see how the exhaust port openings are offset upwards from the bolt holes.
