Re: 1964 C10 build

Got a little done on the firewall. Didn't completely smooth it out, but filled a lot of unwanted holes

Ya, I thought it would be out of the way, and plus, with the AC in, there just wasn't much room to put it under the dash.

My head is spinning with all the wires and connections, but we'll get r dun.

Re: 1964 C10 build

Cool build. Making more progress than I am. How did you drill the rear axles? Did you do it in a drill press or by hand? Just wondering because I have a 64 and nobody wants to drill and fill them and I'm hoping not to spend 500 on a new axle kit to change to 30 spline.

Thanks Chuck

CES, A good friend of mine did it. He welded up all the holes, redrilled them in a indexing machine. I didn't see exactly what he did, but I did see him cut the outer edge. The wheels would not go on, so he step cut the outer flange on his lathe.

Thanks. I wish I could find somebody locally to do mine.

Re: 1964 C10 build

So, I'm running Dolphin Gauges in the truck and I heard there was an issue with the lighting. I called Dolphin and they said that the Speedo has a LED bulb and the others have incandescent bulbs. So tomorrow I am going to an LED wholesale guy and buy matching LED bulbs to go in all the other gauges. I will report back and let ya know how it turned out.
