That center piece goes with the 69-72 hood because those hoods are inches shorter than 67/68. '68 Chevy fenders are the same as 68-72 GMC and 69-72 Chevy fenders are stepped down along the front edge. It looks like I see that step down over top of the trim. and, although you can use a 67/68 Chevy core support create a GMC one, it requires adding all the GMC headlight mounting. doesn't anyone else see what I'm seeing?
Special-K I have thought about doing this same swap but only using the 67-68 hood and keeping the 72 grill. I see what you are saying here but what is the difference between the OPs hood-grill arrangement and the one in post #52 (later GMC). The fenders of both look to have the "notch" or set back to accept the surround grill the same as the 69-72. The only difference I can see is the height of the hood.

Re: Lets see them 67-72 Projects!

oh ok! That must suck though. Having to wait, although... patience is key. Was there a factory 4 door when the 67-72 began production?

Re: Lets see them 67-72 Projects!

I'm getting it together, sure hope to have it running by April 1st.

5.3, PT7675CEA, 4L80E, 9" w/3.25, PTC Converter

This pic was taken last year. I drove it a ton, and with newfound reliable power I intend to drive it even more in 2015. This truck quickly became a favorite vehicle of mine.

If it runs like this...I'll be glad I've got 4 wheel disc brakes!
