you are correct sir, I am using a flap disc... I think its an 80 grit...maybe 120 it's not super aggressive

flap disc
it is 80 grit. they are bad @ss... but it's still a good idea to be cautious with the grinder. it's just a bunch of pieces of sand paper stuck together. they last a good long time also.

I am a little closer to a swinging door...
I will have to tweak the bottom hinge a bit, it isn't square, but I'm making progress.

Home depot and lowe's have them... I buy mine from my local welding supply they are much cheaper than the big boys...

I just bought one tonight, but 36 grit . I didnt realize how well theyd work, now I have to use a bit of bondo, exactly what I didnt want. What is the ideal grit for grindin welds without grindin your sheetmetal too much?

I wish there were more hours in a day... or I didn't have to keep a day job...I am really getting pumped up about this modification... I am super pleased with how everything has turned out so far...I guess this means I can cut the dash now?

Well Casey, Thats not far from the truth...I am working now to support my habit, and to fund my future shop... I'm acquiring all the tools and such now. If I hit the lottery it'll all come sooner.
